Chapter 11.
The alarm continued to ring, but Luke was still in bed, staring up at his ceiling. His chest ached as he remembered yesterday night's talk with Lena. He can remember every word Lena uttered about wanting to end their relationship, and he was wondering what made Lena decide to do it again. Lena is his safe haven; if he doesn't feel like living his life, just one assurance from her or a cup of coffee with her will relieve the fears he had about everything in his life.
He doesn't want to go to school and would rather stay in bed all day till he believes Lena will come back to him. He was looking for his phone beneath his pillow and dialing Lena's number again, but a voice stated the number is no longer accessible, which only implies Lena changed her number or she may have blocked him now. He got furious at the prospect of Lena treating him like a nobody after years of being together with him. How can she be so cruel? Leaving him in the dark with no further understanding.
He had a lot on his mind right now, and he didn't realize he'd fallen asleep again.
A loud slam in the living room jolted Luke awake. He grabbed his phone and checked the time; it was already 13:00, and he realized that he hadn't gone to school today. He began hearing noises from the living room, a woman's voice he believes. Getting out of bed in his typical boxer and messy hair, looking at himself in the mirror gave him an unexpected sight. He looks messed up.
"Do you think I'll never learn about your affair?" She yelled loudly.Luke is now standing outside his bedroom door, witnessing something he has never seen before. In the living room, an angry brunette woman is speaking to his father. He believes the woman was in her late twenties. They are still unaware of Luke's presence.
"Sarah, calm down. What makes you believe I'll do something that will hurt you?" His father asked the woman. He realizes now that this woman might be his father's young lover. What an idiot he was for bringing this person into their residence without informing him or Nate about it."Stop telling lies, I've been watching you for a few days and I've noticed something is wrong. I tried to go to your office the other day without telling you because you said you were busy, and when I got there, I saw this other woman you're with, and both of you appear to be enjoying each other's company. What is it, Richard? Do you find our sex boring and you are searching for a fresh target to fuck with?" Her voice is already shaking with rage.
Luke began to shake his head in surprise. His father is trying to keep this side of himself hidden from them. He recalls his father never dating another woman after his mother passed away declaring that he will never remarry or even have a lover because their mother was the only person he would love till the day he passed on. But seeing his father suddenly engaged in a fight with a lady he barely knows revolts him, as does the possibility of another woman being involved, making them two women he enjoys playing with.
"Sarah, stop your foolishness! You are acting inappropriately; I never told you to come to my office without my authorization!" His father is still acting like an innocent pup.She lunges towards his father, intending to strike him when his father finally grabs her hand
"What do you think you're doing? Do you dare to do this after all the money you've spent with my funds? "He uttered this with venom.
Luke couldn't stand by and let this happen, so he walked forward to let them know he was there.
"What's going on, Dad?" he asked, attempting to calm the situation. The woman got bright red when she saw him."Luke, what brings you here?" His father swiftly let go of the woman's arm.
"Shouldn't I be the one asking you this? Who exactly is this woman? Looking at the two of you battling it seems like you have a lover here, a lover you didn't have a chance to reveal to me or Nate." He said with disbelief in this voice
"Hello, my name is Luke, and it's a pleasure to meet you at our family's place of residence." He stated it sarcastically. The woman was simply staring at his face, avoiding glancing at his boxers.
