Everyday since L started going to chemotherapy, he has been very tired and sick a lot as chemotherapy has made him be this way. It's been 2 weeks since he's been diagnosed with cancer and he's trying to stay strong and beat it. Light still hasn't spoken to him and while it's been concerning, he knew he should allow him to do so on his own time. It'll be better and he will feel more comfortable talking to him again. L then fell asleep, turning around to cry his eyes out. "Light, I hope you can talk to me again. I miss you so much." He sobbed, crying in his sleep and whispered.

L then woke up an hour later and Watari greeted him, asking him if he had a good nap. He shook his head no and told him how he wishes Light were to talk to him again. Watari formed a line in his mouth, sighing to himself. "L, give him time. You can't expect him to talk to you right away." He reminded him, getting annoyed by this point.

"But, Watari–" He was about to say, but he stopped him before he could even say another word.

"Lawliet, deal with it!" He shouted, which L got angry as he hated being called by his full name in situations like these. He then felt his head and started breathing heavily, crying hysterically and Light showed up with his suitcase and dropped it, running to L's side.

"L, are you okay?" He asked him, wrapping his hand around his shoulder. L looked at him, as well as Watari and looked up at the ceiling, passing out. "L!!!!" Light screamed, sobbing as he definitely is close to dying now.

"Light, it's going to be okay. L isn't dead yet." Watari assured him, letting the younger Yagami know it's all going to be okay. L had a dizzy spell, which is common for cancer patients to have.

"I see..." He sniffed, crying some more. Light clutched his stomach as he hasn't eaten anything since 2 weeks ago as he's been depressed again. He only eats, then vomits afterwards, repeat. L woke up slowly an hour later and saw Light breathing heavily, sobbing harder. He knew things weren't looking good for him and wanted to make sure he doesn't faint too or dehydrate, which he was curious to know if he's drank anything at least.

"Light, have you drank anything in two weeks?" L asked him softly. He shook his head no, refusing to answer the question or talk to him. "Light, this isn't healthy or good at all. You'll die." He told him, trying to get him to drink water or something at least, minus alcohol. Watari then came back with a glass of water and handed it to Light. He rejected it, feeling more pain in his stomach.

"Light, drink slowly and then rest afterwards." Watari said, trying to confront the light brown haired 21 year old. He stared at the glass, drinking slowly with his straw.

"It's okay, Light. You're going to be okay." L said, kissing his forehead and laid his hand on his lower stomach. Light kept moaning, closing his eyes and breathed heavily, then fell asleep in the table. L then placed his arm around his shoulder and took him to their room.

The next morning, L was in the bathroom and he started washing his face out, only to scream afterwards. Watari spit out his coffee, hearing that scream and went to see what's wrong. "L, are you okay?" He asked him, alarmed by that loud scream of his. Light somehow didn't hear this as he was still sleeping and will be for a while. As in for an hour or two.

"Watari, my hair! It's all gone!" He answered, crying hysterically afterwards and continued to cry, hugging him as he was truly upset now. "It's all gone...my dark, beautiful hair is gone..." He sobbed, blubbering as well. Light slowly woke up and went to get himself a cup of coffee.

He saw L crying and stood there, watching him. Light, you can't be a horrible person. Stop feeling sorry for L and start being there for him. If you choose to end your life right now, you'll regret it from the bottom of whatever and you'll be breaking his heart as well as everyone else's. Is that what you want? Light thought to himself, then decided to put the coffee mug away and went to take a shower.

"I'm such a failure..." He said, crying quietly so nobody could hear him, tears flowing from his amber eyes and sobbed harder. That day in headquarters, Light spaced out again and L saw him, putting some hand sanitizer on and held his hand.

When they (and Watari) went to headquarters, L decided to wear a bandana in red with white spots and it was somewhat funny. At least to him as he finally got a good laugh. The three men went inside and Matsuda made a joke, saying L looks like a pirate. The world's greatest detective laughed even more and smiled, revealing his bald head. He then placed his hand over his mouth in shock. The rest of the Task Force liked it and Matsuda asked if his hair will grow back. L said it would but eventually. He nodded and went back to work, knowing he saw too much. Right now, L didn't know what was going on and saw how sad he really looked. Depressed even. Based on his cheeks, it was obvious he wasn't eating at all.

"Light, are you alright?" He asked him, seeing how tired he was as well. He slowly looked at L, then turned back around to what he was doing. "Light, I understand you're scared I have cancer, but remember what Dr. Tanaka said? It's only stage 1 and it's curable." He said, placing his hand on his shoulder as he reminded him. Watari then showed up and made everyone tea.

"Light, I know you didn't want anything to drink or eat, but try to do so." The older gentleman said, knowing the younger Yagami is still hurting.

"I don't want to!!" He screamed, bursting into tears and placed his hands on his face as he sobbed hysterically. Soichiro knew what was going on from what Sachiko told him and he tried to call Light from his phone. Unfortunately, Light didn't answer and kept doing so for two weeks. Soichiro then saw his messenger bag and noticed a journal in there. He took it from the pocket in the front and started seeing the cover.
