Back in Japan, everyone was deeply upset. Even L was truly upset. He really wanted to see Light again and help him through this sadness he's going through again. He wiped his eyes and went to the deck. He found Light's journal in the deck and saw it had an entry from the 3rd, right before he left Japan to Spain. He started to read it and cleared his throat. He knew this could be a suicide letter as well, so he tried to remain calm about it and not get stressed.
August 3, 2007
It's decided. I'm leaving Japan and moving to Spain. I don't want anyone to find me or worry about me. By the time anyone is seeing this, I am in Barcelona and having the time of my life there. I never knew how great this city is, but the people. They are so nice and so welcoming. I'm very glad I moved to Spain in general. This was my wake up call and start fresh in a city that I've been wanting to visit since I was a child. Approximately 11 years old. If you are reading this entry, please take care care of yourselves. This means you, L. I'll always love you and cherish our relationship. But now, it's time for me to find a new boyfriend and future husband in the city of my dreams. Goodbye forever, Japan.
"Find anything related to Light, L?" Sachiko asked, tears still on her eyes.
"Yes." He answered, then went back inside and started to read the entry itself to her and everyone else in the room. More tears happened as well as panicking occurred as well. Ryuk made to the apartment and L told him what was happening at this moment.
"I know. I found Light in there and he started speaking Spanish or something." He told him and the whole room began telling him lots of questions and he only answered one. "I can't bring him back as I don't know what he was saying. But I'd say we let him in Spain for now and have him come back when he feels like it.
It's now about a month since Light left Japan and he was basically gone forever. L is still with cancer and it's been so exhausting to fight it. Watari told him he needed to continue or he could die, which he was aware of. The news started playing and it was a worldwide report.
"We interrupt our local program for a special news report. Light Yagami, formerly known as Kira has been reported missing. His father would like to speak to us." The man said and handed the microphone to Soichiro.
"My name is Soichiro Yagami, I'm the chief of the NPA and a Task Force member. My son has been missing since August 3rd, which is a month and I want him back. If anyone in Spain knows where he is, kindly call my number or our family's. Thank you." He said, breaking down in tears right away and walked away as he knew he was too emotional to be on TV or simply talk about Light. We then cut to the end of the month and Light has been missing still. Most people in Spain knew about his disappearance but had no idea who he was, as they only refer him as Yagami Light.
"Yagami, ¿lo has oído? (Yagami, have you heard?)" His boss at the cantina he's been working at, said to him.
"¿Qué es, Manuel? (What is it, Manuel?)" He asked, wondering what was going on.
"Al parecer, alguien de Japón llamado Light Yagami ha desaparecido y nos preguntamos si eres él o no. (Apparently someone from Japan named Light Yagami is missing and we are wondering if you're him or not.) He told him, asking if he could be the one who is missing currently. Light didn't know what to say, but he shook his head no.
"Si lo estuviera, estoy seguro de que no estaría aquí. Pero gracias por preguntar, Manuel. (If I was, I sure as hell wouldn't be here. But thanks for asking, Manuel.)" He said, thanking him and Manuel went to call that number of Soichiro's. It's currently 7 pm in Barcelona, which is 12 pm in Japan.
"Hello?" Soichiro said, getting his glasses back on as he was crying. His phone showed a caller ID and he wasn't sure who it was, but decided to answer it, just in case. He didn't show up to work as he was taking time off. The rest of the Task Force did, knowing this would be better if they decided to stay home for now. Just until Light gets back.
"Is your name Soichiro Yagami?" Manuel asked him, mispronouncing his first name.
"Yes." He answered, knowing this has happened many times in his life as he's had co-workers from America or simply the UK, as well as the fact he attended a bilingual school from elementary to the end of high school, so hearing his name being mispronounced is quite often.
"We have your son. He is in Barcelona, working at the cantina I own. How do you call it in English? A pub." He told him, explaining where Light's whereabouts are and where he is working.
"I see. I'll start packing right away and bring my wife and daughter along this trip." He said, thankful that his son is okay and there's no need to worry about him anymore. He ended the call and spoke to Watari.
"Watari, I need you to tell everyone that Light is safe and Sachiko, myself and Sayu are going to Spain. We'll be back sometime next week." He told him and he nodded.
"Alright. Thank you for letting me know, Soichiro. This will also make L very happy." He said to him, letting him know on that last part.
"How is he doing right now?"
"He's been very depressed and not hungry. I fear he's probably dying and spoke to the oncologist about it. He saw him and he told me that he's not dying yet or the cancer hasn't spread. But he's most definitely heartbroken."
"I'm so sorry this happened."
"Thank you so much. I'll let him know."
Back to the apartment and Watari went to speak to L. He found him in his side of the bed still, crying. He only has been to chemotherapy and then home. Nowhere else. He's been very heartbroken for a month now, feeling like Light is gone forever and won't ever see him again. Even if L were to fly to Spain, he is not advised to fly for now. Even though there isn't a problem with people traveling while having it, it still was somewhat risky for him. He didn't understand why, but shrugged it off. "Lawliet, I have something to tell you." Watari said to him, entering the room. L has been wearing a feeding tube now for a week and he hates it so much.
"What is it?" He said, tears in his eyes as he didn't want to speak to anyone. He just wanted his Light back.
"Light is in Spain and he's alive. However, Soichiro, Sachiko and Sayu are going to see him. You are allowed to go with them. Forget what your oncologist said. You can fly there if you're safe." He told him and L wiped his eyes, hugging Watari as he knew it'll all be okay indeed.
"Thank you, Watari. I'll start packing right away." He said, getting off his side of the bed. Roger and Near showed up and saw L really happy now.
"What's going on with L, Watari?" Near asked, surprised to see a smile in his face after a month of being heartbroken.
"Let's just say he's going to be gone for a week, but will be back." He told him and he knew exactly what this meant. L's woohoo was the best thing he's done as he's very happy.
