Run towards the Fight

A phone rang and Matt sprung awake instantly alert. He caused a lot of noise within the private office he was in that it alerted someone and they opened the door. Matt disoriented as to where he was spun around in circles.

"Matt you need to relax. You're in shock." Foggy reassured

"Foggy where am I?" Matt asked

"Harlem civilian officers precinct private office. And if we're painting the whole picture you look terrible. You look like 50 Stormtroopers attacked you at once." Foggy replied

Matt rubbed his hands over his body trying to make sense of all this.

"The civilian police took your shirt for blood samples. Misty Knight the officer in charge is doing bureaucratic gymnastics to prevent any Imperial officials from getting involved. But it's not looking like a battle she's going to win. You can't afford to piss this lady off because she's the only reason you aren't in an Imperial prison cell right now." Foggy explained

Matt shook his arms and legs and took a deep breath to calm himself.

"Claire looked you over. None of your limbs are broken but like I said before the civilian officers have lots of questions for you."

"I wasn't wearing the suit." Matt blurted out referring to his Daredevil armor

"I know. Looks like the Force was actually with you as the Jedi used to say." Foggy replied sarcastically

Matt eyes widened in panic as he finally remembered what happened before he was knocked unconcious.

"I need to go. Danny Rand is in danger. He was taken...by..."

"Matt slow down. Are you talking about the billionaire whose company funded the new Imperial factory by Chinatown?"

"Yeah Danny Rand of Rand Enterprises but this doesn't have anything to do with the TIE Defender factory. Oh my goodness...Elektra. Elektra killed Stick and she's back. Someone from this group called the Hand rose her from the dead using energy from the Multiversal Core. She's not like the way she was before. She's stronger and she's a threat and I gotta stop her and save Danny." Matt attempted to explain

"Wait a minute. Your ex girlfriend who died on some island called Malachor is alive? Multiversal what...Multiversal energy?...Matt what you're saying sounds crazy. If you tell the civilian police this you'll be put in an insane asylum instead of an Imperial prison." Foggy warned

"I get that this sounds crazy Foggy but Danny is the Iron Fist and if Aida the woman who was using the Hand and Elektra to kidnap him gets access to his power...than New York/Lothal is going to be under the control of someone a lot more powerful and oppressive than the Empire. I have to stop them."

"Matt you need to take a breath and relax. You were found unconcious a couple hours ago."

"I can't. There's no time and if you don't wanna believe me then fine but I'm going to find Danny and save him."

Before Foggy could respond the door opened.

"Mr. Murdock you're awake that's good." Detective Misty Knight said irritably

"Detective Knight is that you?" Matt replied

"I got one of your clients having an emotional breakdown in one room and another one is passed out on an office couch. So it's going to be on you to answer a few of my questions."

"As an attorney according to Imperial Senate law I have attorney-client privilege." Matt replied

Foggy bowed his head slightly in frustration.

Misty smirked before speaking in a serious no nonsense professional tone, "That's cute...but cut the hyperspit. We both know that you're more than just a lawyer in this situation. You're lucky Agent Kallus of the ISB isn't questioning you right now. So take advantage of the break that I'm giving you Mr. Murdock. You're involved in a high priority investigation as a witness to a crime. This isn't the time for games."

"A witness? Um...detective...how can I be a witness if I'm a blind man? Do you want to know how things sounded at the crime scene detective?" Matt asked

"Perhaps you didn't hear me when I said cut the hyperspit. I understand Danny Rand was taken by this mysterious cult the Hand and it'd look bad on not just the civilian officers under my command but the Imperial officers under Grand Admiral Thrawn if he isn't rescued. So if that were to happen those same Imperial officers would blame you and throw you in Imperial prison and I wouldn't be able to do a thing about it. If I were you Mr. Murdock I'd proceed very cautiously because you are reaching the point of no return."

"Why are we even here? We're not civilians we're members of the Rebel Alliance. We can fight and we need to do it now if we're going to get Danny back." Colleen urged

"Me? Colleen I'm a medic not a warrior like you." Claire replied folding her arms and shaking her head

"Not true. You're a warrior because I trained you myself. You can make a difference Claire as a Rebel and a Defender not just as a nurse."

"I get that you want to save Danny but Fitz hired Jessica and the others to stop the Hand. Not us."

"That doesn't matter. The Empire is in control and they've made people afraid and isolated from each other. The Hand's used that to their advantage. They've acted as if people are too scared to fight so they run but I'm running to the fight. And so should you."

"Ok...ok...I get it. But how do we get out of this precinct. Misty isn't going to just let us leave. She doesn't know that we're in the Rebel Alliance and if she figures that out we'll be turned over to the Empire." Claire warned

"I'll need you to create a distraction." Colleen said

"If you leave Matt your life would be over. You'd be considered a fugitive from the Empire. You wouldn't be able to help people in court as an attorney. You'd have to be Daredevil everyday. It's not worth it especially after you promised Karen..." Foggy argued

"Oh my...it's true isn't it? You want to become him again. After all the good you've done as a lawyer why do you want to fight a losing battle? Why do you want to ignore us to cling to this alter ego of yours? You said Daredevil was dead." Karen protested as she stormed into the private office Matt and Foggy were in

"I was wrong. Daredevil isn't something I do. It's who I am. I can't sit when there's a threat that could endanger millions of innocent lives. Whether it's the Empire or some other organization I'm going to do something to defend the innocent as Matt Murdock and also as Daredevil. I'm done apologizing about that to both of you." Matt replied leaving the room

"Wait, Matt. Don't go." Foggy said as he reached the main entrance of the precinct

He grabbed Matt's arm before he could talk to Luke and Jessica.

"I know you've made up your mind and there's nothing I can do to stop you. I get it. But the official story is that you're a person of interest to the Empire not a fugitive. Power Man and Super Joan Jett in the other room are fugitives until the Empire can pin whatever you three experienced with this group called the Hand on someone else." Foggy explained

"What's your point Foggy?" Matt asked

"My point is that the Empire considers Daredevil the potential fugitive. Not Matt Murdock. A blind lawyer being perceived as a threat to the Empire is something that Governor Pryce doesn't want out in the public. As long as it looks like Daredevil and Matt Murdock are two separate people, then your former civilian clients won't be squeezed to take you and your three powered friends down. That has to matter or else why'd you defend your former civilian clients in the first place?" Foggy said as he handed Matt a bag that contained his Daredevil armor

Matt nodded understanding what Foggy was saying. Daredevil was required to save New York/Lothal from the Hand not Matt Murdock. As far as everyone knew Matt Murdock was just a lawyer nothing more.
