I took a deep breath as I walked towards Hailie's room. I knew I had to tell her the news before anyone else. She was my best friend, and Marshall's daughter. She deserved to know first.

I knocked softly on her door, and she called out for me to come in. She was lying on her bed, scrolling through her phone.

"Hey, Haz," she said, looking up at me. "What's up?"

I sat down next to her and took her hand. "I have something to tell you," I said, feeling nervous.

Hailie sat up, looking concerned. "What's wrong? Is everything okay?"

I took a deep breath. "I'm pregnant," I said, watching her face for a reaction.

Hailie's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh my god, Hazel! That's amazing news!" she exclaimed, throwing her arms around me in a tight hug.

I felt a wave of relief wash over me. I had been so worried about how everyone would react to the news, but Hailie's reaction was everything I needed. I hugged her back tightly.

A huge smile spread across my face. "Yeah,I'm going to be a mom," I said, still in disbelief.

Hailie hugged me again. "This is amazing news, Hazel. I'm so happy for you guys," she said, grinning from ear to ear.

I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders but I knew there were going to be challenges ahead, so having Hailie's support meant everything to me.

......

Marshall and I were sat on the couch, as we held hands, as discussed our relationship.

"I can't believe we haven't met each other's families yet," I glanced at Marshall.

"I know," Marshall replied, "but we've both been so busy with work and everything. And, to be honest, I've been a little nervous about introducing you."

"Why?" I asked, squeezing his hand.

"It's just...complicated, you know?" Marshall said, looking down at our intertwined fingers.

I nodded. I knew that outside of Marshall's closer family members that things could get heated, to say the least. He had written so many songs about  his difficult past.

"But I think it's important for us to meet each other's families, especially now." I smiled, knowing I was pregnant and hadn't told him yet.

Marshall smiled at me, his eyes filled with love and admiration. "You're right. I'll talk to them babe."

I leaned in and kissed him, feeling grateful for his support and willingness to take this next step in our relationship. I knew that it wouldn't be easy, especially when it came to Kim but I knew we would make it work.
