Four Years Later
"Chase it's show time." Someone yells.

Chase grabs his mic and heads for the stage. He decided on doing something different tonight. Looking out into the crowd he only sees one face, hers.

"So tonight I want to start with a song I wrote for a girl that I'll forever love and that will forever be on my heart. You see through every song I sing and everything I do is some how for her. I'm sure she's moved on by now but I'd love to sing this song for her."

That was all a lie they both hadn't moved on. There's a girl standing in the back. Her hair now platinum blonde and petite. Her clothes are more fitting to her body. She's wearing bright red lipstick. Somehow she ends up at every show that she can. On her left hand is a little silver ring that isn't as shinny but still has the most value. She sips out of a red solo and listens to his voice.

"On a highway in a town north of Atlanta
That radio, it stopped me in my tracks
It was a song I sang, a song I wrote
A couple of years back for ya
And it got me thinkin' of how I miss my Georgia

Cause you're in every song I sing, you're in everything I do
In every breath I take and every I miss you
But I couldn't do a damn thing
No right words that I could say
I couldn't keep you here with a melody and now you're just a memory
But girl you'll always be, in every song I sing

I lived a life and love that you had grown to hate
I had a love affair with the road a stage and my six string
And though I couldn't keep you here, I done all that I could do
And yet you're gone tonight but this song I write it's about you

Cause you're in every song I sing, you're in everything I do
In every breath I take and every I miss you
But I couldn't do a damn thing
No right words that I could say
I couldn't keep you here with a melody and now you're just a memory
But girl you'll always be, in every song I sing

I hope you know every night I take that stage
Girl I'd given up it all to make you stay
But I keep you in my heart in my own way

Through every song I sing, through everything I do
Through every breath I take and every I miss you
Oh but I couldn't do a damn thing
No right words that I could say
I couldn't keep you here with a melody and now you're just a memory
But girl you'll always be, in every song I sing."

Chase announces he'll be back and she decides she can't stay. Her eyes water like they do every night. She's always wanted to come back knowing he'd have open arms yet she couldn't find it in her. Ava finds herself in a hall dimly lit not even knowing how she got in or how to get out.

Chase hears sobs, he knows he has to go back on stage but can't to follow them. Slowly approaching the blonde, he reached down to help her off the floor. He sees she's wearing a ring.

"That ring looks like one I bought one time." He jokes like the little jokster he is.

"It is." She softly whispers and looks up into his eyes. His heart drops as he looks into the green eyes that he's forever longed for.

He slides down the wall holding her in his lap.
