"Hey baby, did you miss me?"
________
We all fall in love
"Put me down!" She exclaimed, her voice carried by the laughter bubbling in her chest as she gripped onto his waist, trying her best to keep steady after he threw her over his shoulder.
"Not a chance." He chuckled, slapping her lightly on the ass while he takes the pot off the stove. "I told you we were going out tonight."
"I know but I don't feel too hot today so I thought we could just stay in."
"Why didn't you say so?" He asks, putting her down on the counter and laying his hands on her thighs. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing! Just a little drained that's all."
"Too drained to go to the drive in?" He pouted and she nodded, her eyes apologising for her. "Even when you feel like shit, you still look gorgeous." He sighed happily, leaving a short and sweet kiss on her lips. "We can rent a movie instead."
"Are you sure?" She asked, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and he picked her up and carried her to the couch.
"I'm sure, we can go to the drive in another night." He told her, sitting himself down and bringing her I to his lap. "Don't want my girl feeling any worse."
But we disregard the danger
"Please slow down."
"Relax babe, there's no cops on this road." He laughed, the music from the radio blaring through the car speakers and he sped through the streets.
"Your seatbelts are broken and you're going 80 miles per hour." She said nervously, she knew he was a reckless driver but he'd never been like this when she was in the car with him.
"So? Live a little." He shrugged.
"I won't be living at all if you don't slow down, honey."
"I fucking hate that name." He huffs, shaking his head and she frowns. "You can be so dull sometimes, you know that?"
"What? No, I'm not being dull, I'm being safe."
"Safe is boring." He huffed, his girlfriend sighing in the passenger seat.
"Baby, I just don't want you to get in trouble for speeding." She told him, placing her hand over his that was gripping her thigh rather tightly.
"Just because you're like a wet blanket, doesn't mean I'm gonna become one." He laughs, removing his hand from her leg and stepping on the gas pedal even harder.
A wet blanket. In other words, a goody two shoes. In other words, boring.
"You know what you signed up for."
Though we share so many secrets
She wasn't with his beloved girlfriend, the girl with her lips wrapped around him as he tilted his head back in ecstasy.
His girlfriend was laying in her bed with her clothes ripped to shreds, courtesy of him and all because her shirt was a little low cut.
"You want people to think you're a whore, huh?" He spat, pulling her sleeve off her shirt with no trouble at all. "You can fucking stay here, I don't want people seeing you dressed like that." He scoffed, the girl looking up at him with tears in her eyes.
She thought he'd like it.
It wasn't the first time he'd called her that, the first time was infront of half of the boys at Hawkins High.
"God, she's a whore man, don't let the good girl facade fool you. She'll put out for anyone that so much as smiles at her."
He'd always say the same thing after making her feel like she was unwanted by him, like she wasn't good enough to be with anyone else but him.
"Nobody would love you like I do."
There are some we never tell
She was already having the worst day of her life, then somehow it's got even worse.
"Please...please not tonight." She sighed, watching her boyfriend stumble through the door at 2am, drunk out of his mind with white powder residue around his nose.
"Shut up, whore. You're lucky I even want you, have you seen yourself?" He laughs, leaning against a wall to keep himself up.
Yes she's seen herself, her body is burned into her brain.
Skin and bone, no colour to her whatsoever and he still insists she's fat. So she carries on losing the weight she doesn't have and watches herself slowly wither away. "So, you're gonna get on your knees and do as I say."
"Babe, please. Now isn't a good time." She wipes her eyes, the tears that her own boyfriend didn't notice now disappearing with one wipe. "Go screw one of your other girls or something, I just can't do this tonight." She told him, voice void of any emotion.
She was numb.
"What the fuck did you just say to me?" He growled, his eyes zoning in on the weak girl stood infront of him.
Before she even got another word out, she felt a sharp sting on her cheek and she looked at him in shock.
Of all the things he'd done to her, said to her, not once had he physically hurt her. Not on purpose anyway.
"You're supposed to be the Hawkins harlot, that's why I keep you around."
Hawkins harlot.
The name given to her by some guy she made out with at a party when she was 14.
"I'm fucking talking to you!" He shouted, grabbing her hair and lifting her head to look at him.
She tried to pull away but every time she did, he'd smack her head into the nearest wall, spitting on her as she wept. "Fucking pathetic." He'd mumble over and over as he watched her spit out blood.
She was barely conscious. All she remembers is seeing his eyes, his pupils blown and the whites of his eyes red. A menacing look in them. She remembers him having his way with her and she remembers him leaving her with a few words.
"I did it because I love you."
