Stevie's POV

Everything felt cold.

My blood, my skin, even my eyes felt like they'd dried out from staring at him for so long.

"You not gonna invite me in sweetheart?" The man in front of me smirks, my bones itching to escape the skin they're encased in. Just to get away from this moment.

"Angel, who is it?" I hear someone ask, assuming it's Eddie. He puts his hands on my hips from behind and I involuntarily tense up, and he notices and begins drawing circles with his thumbs. "Hargrove?"

"Munson, why are your hands on my girl?"

"Your girl?"

I can hear muffled sounds but I don't know who's speaking anymore, all the voices have merged into one.

"Why is HE here?"

"I thought he was dead."

"I was hoping he was."

"He will be."

I didn't think I'd ever see him again, and I was okay with that. Perfectly fucking fine with it actually and now he shows up? When I'm happy.

For the first time in years i'm happy, it's as if he sensed it and came back to ruin my life and break my spirit just a little more, until there's nothing left of me.

When I've just managed to get myself back.

"Stevie? Stevie, are you okay?" Someone asks and I nod automatically, like I was trained to when he was around.

"Does she fucking look okay?"

"Fine." I blurt, not taking my eyes off him for one second. "I-I'm fine." I say, my breathing quickening in pace and I can feel my heart trying to beat out of my chest.

Not in the way it does with Eddie.

Everyone keeps talking and shouting, my head hurts.

I just want them all to be quiet. Just for a moment.

"Stephanie." I hear him say and I automatically feel like I've been thrown back into 1983.

He used my full name all the time, never calling me Stevie. Thought it sounded too masculine. He would use it to control me, I didn't realise it at the time obviously but in hindsight, every time he called me Stephanie with that same tone of voice, I'd bend to his every will. Not from feeling submissive in a sexual way, but feeling submissive in the worst way.

Like if I don't do what he says, I'd get into trouble.

"Stephanie." He says again, his eyes narrowing, glaring at me.

"What." I reply with no emotion to my voice. No fear, no sadness, nothing because well, I can't feel anything.

"You'd think that my girlfriend would be happy to see me." He huffs, already looking me up and down with a scowl.

He's going to make a comment on my weight. I just know it.

"You lo-"

"Billy leave." Max orders, physically pushing her brother off my doorstep. "I told you not to come here, I told you to leave her alone."

"Oh Max, she's my girl! I can't leave her alone." He smiles maniacally, reaching his hands out to caress my face and I think Eddie's too stunned and confused to do anything about it.

"You left her alone for 3 years. Do it for the foreseeable future." Dustin seethes, helping Max in kicking Billy out of the house and slamming the door.

"Stevie, are you okay?"

"I'm good." I nod, letting out a breath, "I'm okay." I say, stepping away from Eddie and facing everyone. "I'm gonna make some tea. Anyone want tea?"

"She's in shock."

"Obviously."

"Robin? Steve? You want tea?"

"No thanks, Stevie..." Robin says, looking at me sadly and glancing between me and Eddie.

"Steve?"

"No." He says bluntly before storming out of the front door.

Oh no.

THIRD PERSON POV

Steve Harrington makes his way out onto the doorstep of the Henderson's home, seeing Billy Hargrove leaning against his car.

He's seething, face turned red and teeth grinding together as he looks at the man that ruined his best friend.

"Am I dreaming or is that you Harrington?" Billy laughs, blowing smoke from his lips as he looks at the one person he doesn't trust around Stephanie Henderson.

More like, the one person he doesn't trust her to be around.

"Yeah it's me, don't cream your pants." Steve rolls his eyes, hands on his hips as he watches Billy chuckle.

"She looks good." Billy nods, "But then again, I don't date ugly chicks."

"You're not dating her." Steve shakes his head, lips pursed.

"Like hell I'm not, we never broke up. She's still mine."

"Okay no, don't say that shit near this house." Steve panics but what he really means is don't say that shit near Eddie Munson. "Come on man, get outta here. We don't need any of your shit, we don't want trouble."

"I'm just here to see my girlfriend." Billy laughs, shrugging and smirking at something behind Steve.

"Why does this motherfucker keep saying that word?"

"Munson, back inside." Steve pushes Eddie back into the house and pulls the door shut, holding the handle so Eddie can't get back out. "You've done enough. We don't want you near her."

"Sure. That's what you want, but is it what she wants?" Billy Hargrove smirks, throwing his cigarette butt on the ground as a car pulls up.

"Harrington." Steve hears someone say, he looks over and sees Jim Hopper and feels immediate relief. "Hargrove, what's happening here, huh?" Hopper scowls, his jaw clenched as he lays eyes on the blonde.

"I was just leaving, chief." Billy says, opening his car door and turning to Steve once more before driving off. "Tell her I'll see her soon."

"Like hell you will!" Steve and Hopper exclaim in unison as Billy drives away and out of sight.

"It'll be fine. I'll figure it out. She'll be fine, Harrington." Hopper tells him, but deep down he knows he trying to convince himself more than Steve.

Steve sighs and rubs his face, worried about Stevie, Eddie and Dustin.

He won't let Dustin watch his sister go downhill again.

He won't let Eddie lose Stevie, no matter how much the Munson boy pisses him off.

And he sure as hell won't let Stevie lose herself to Billy Hargrove, not again.
