It had been two days.
For Clark, he felt stuck in both directions: take care of Bruce or go find the Joker and all the people involved. Unfortunately, Bruce seemed to be in destress if Clark even seemed to look like he planned on leaving him.
Bruce was attached to him as if Clark was a security blanket.
When Clark tried to search for Joker remotely with his super senses, he couldn't get a hold on his location. He couldn't even find him.
Clark didn't really want answers.
He wanted revenge.
But he wanted to keep Bruce safe and satisfied.
He knew Nightwing, posing as Batman, is working on the task of finding the criminals involved. He would go help him out if he end up finding something.
"Clark?" Bruce mumbled as he woke up on his bed. He just woke up from a nap. His first reaction was to call Clark.
Clark was on a desk in the room working. Even though he was Superman, he still had a job at the Daily Planet. He turned to Bruce. "Yeah?"
Bruce sighed, "I'm..." He looked around his room as if it was a foreign place. He was probably still reeling from his dreams. He sat up and yawned. "Can we go on a walk?"
Clark was surprised about the question. Bruce had not shown any desire of leaving the comforts of his home since he got there. "Are you sure?" He wasn't sure if going out would trigger anything good or bad.
Even the news reported of Bruce being attacked, but that was it. They just said he was recooperating, and that was it.
Bruce nodded.
Clark gave in to his desires.
After getting Bruce dressed up in his usual attire, the two went out.
Clark let Bruce lead the way. He only wanted to go where Bruce felt comfortable.
Bruce managed to lead them into town. He didn't say anything. He just looked around quietly.
Clark wondered what was going through his mind. "What are you thinking about?"
"Arcade," Bruce simply answered.
"Ah," Clark replied. "Do you know where it is?"
"Um," he replied. "I'm not sure." He looked around puzzled. "I thought I knew." He pouted.
When they reached the corner of the street, Bruce gasped, "There it is!" He pointed in the area of the arcade. He excitedly ran forward, so Clark followed him.
Bruce went to the coin machine. He dug into his pocket and took out his wallet. He immediately pulled out the first thing he could grabbed.
A hundred dollar bill.
The machine clearly only took ones and fives.
Of course, Bruce couldn't read, nor did he take the picture into consideration.
"Hold on," Clark said. He began digging in his pockets.
"Why," Bruce whined. "I wanna play!"
"Use this," Clark said, passing him a five dollar bill.
"Oh," Bruce said. "But I have money."
"It's too much," Clark reasoned.
"No it's not."
Clark took a troubled breath and let his parenting side take place. He explained, "Look at the picture." He pointed at the one and five dollar bill picture. "Now look at what you are holding. Do they look the same?"
