It was bed time!

Bruce went to his bed with Alfred by his side. But he didn't get in. He stared at the bed, then back at Alfred.

"What seems to be the problem?" Alfred asked.

Bruce answered, "Can you stay until I fall asleep?"

"Sure," Alfred said. "I'll stay as long as you need."

That encouraged Bruce to climb into bed. He turned on his side to face Alfred. He smiled a little as he slowly closed his eyes. He fell asleep faster than Alfred expected.

After checking on Bruce twice, Alfred left Bruce to his dreams.

The next morning, Bruce woke up. He sat up and yawned. He was feeling hungry. He got up from his bed to where he remembered was his dining room. "Yum!" Bruce exclaimed as he saw the delicious food spread on the table.

Dick and Damian were already at the table.

Dick said amused of Bruce's reaction, "Good morning, little guy."

Damian shot a glare at Dick while Dick responded with a smirk.

Bruce didn't notice the exchange and replied, "Good morning." He sat on the edge of the table. Then he furrowed his eyebrows as he noticed the food were near the middle of the table. He couldn't just reach with his one good hand.

Bruce got on his knees on his chair. He reached for the food.

"Bruce," Dick called alarmed. He quickly stood up. "Let me get that for you."

"I got it," Bruce pouted.

Dick went to Bruce's side. He looped an arm around Bruce's waist to pull him off the table. "That's not exactly a smart way to go about it."

"I'm smart!" Bruce retaliated.

"Yes you are," Dick said with sarcasm. He let Bruce sit on his knees on the chair.

Bruce didn't sense the sarcasm in his voice.

"How about we get off the chair and get the food from here?" Dick went to the middle of the table where the middle chairs sat.

"Oh," Bruce said. He got up from the chair and went to grab some breakfast for his plate.

He ate quietly as the two sons tried to observe their father.

When Bruce was done, he announced, "Done!" He got up from the chair. He began walking away.

"And where are you going?" Dick asked curiously.

Bruce stopped in his tracks and tilted his head. Even he didn't know where he was going himself.

Dick suggested, "How about you watch some cartoons while we figure out what to do?"

"Okay," Bruce nodded.

Before he could walk off to the living room, the doorbell rung.

"Oh I wonder who it is," Bruce said with anticipation. He went to the front room, where Alfred was already at the door.

Alfred said quietly, "I feel like it's a bad idea for you to be here. He's already been through enough!"

"But I-."

Bruce recognized that voice. He gasped as he ran forward, "My favorite person!" He pushed Alfred aside and wrapped his arms around Clark Kent's shoulders.

"Hi, Bruce," Clark greeted. He knew of Bruce's situation. Of course with his super hearing and his friend's, Dick, input, he got the information he needed.
