Dick and Jon managed to find two more of the criminals. Then the police got two more from making them spill their guts. They were just as weak as the other, ready to squeal like pigs of any information for a shorter sentence. There was two more left.

The Joker and some other criminal.

Clark was continuing to take care of Bruce.

Damian was home. He went out a lot more than usual according to Dick. He was currently in the living room reading a book on the couch.

Bruce was playing with his toy car.

Clark was alone in Bruce's bedroom laying in bed. Whether he liked it or not, he was feeling down. He would watch Bruce through the wall a few times. He had to make sure Bruce was satisfied or not in distress.

Then there was a call from Lois.

Lois asked, "How are things? I heard that you were taking care of Bruce. Is he okay?"

Clark said, "It is okay. Bruce is okay."

"Are you okay?" You sound down." Lois always knew when Clark wasn't feeling well, especially through his voice.

Clark sighed, "Is it bad to feel useless?"

"Why do you feel useless?"

He answered, "I want to help Bruce more. He's... not doing well." He didn't want to tell her what was going on with him. "I want to do more. Most of the problems aren't physical, it's mental. He's hurt, and I could've prevented it."

"Smallville," Lois sighed. "You can't go back in time, and you aren't God. All you can do is use what you have in front of you. I know you wish to do more, but there is only so much one can do. You always put others before yourself. That's why I was willing to let you go."

Clark closed his eyes as tears slipped from his eyes. He whimpered, "Then why do I feel so bad?"

"Watching someone suffer is hard," Lois said. "It's okay to feel bad, but think about this: What would he do if no one else was there to help him? You are doing your own part. Keep being there for him."

Sobbing, Clark said, "I'm sorry. I just feel so bad, and I'm dumping this on you."

"It's okay," she said softly.

"Clark?" Bruce called from the doorway. "You're crying."

Clark quickly sat up and wiped his eyes. "I'm fine."

Bruce came to the bed. He placed his hand on Clark's cheek. "Don't cry."

Clark could barely keep his composure as more tears fell. He sobbed, "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." He put his hand over his face as he continued to cry.

Bruce saw the discarded phone on the side. He picked it up. He put it to his ear. "Hello?"

"Bruce?" Lois said on the phone.

"Yes?"

"Is Clark still there?"

Bruce said, "He's crying."

"Okay, I'll call him later," Lois informed. "Please be there for him."

Bruce nodded, "Okay."

Lois hung up.

Bruce sat down beside Clark. He put his hand on his back. "Don't cry." He wasn't sure what to do. He knew that a hug could make him feel better. He wrapped his arms around Clark. "Be happy."

Clark nodded his head as he calmed down a little.

"Be happy."

Clark placed his hand on his arm. He sniffed, "Okay." He wiped his tears away. "Okay."
