I relish in the way my face numbs at the beating sensation of the wind roaring against my skin. I don't exactly remember when my feet started moving, sprinting at their own desperate pace. Was it when All Might had freed Honenuki? Or when everyone stood frozen looking at me in horror? Or maybe at the absence of words that I was so sure would spring up and attack me. Whatever the trigger, my pace never faltered for a second as I ran into the woods, shaded by the large trees and rowdy bushes, shadowing my movements and hiding my presence. At least this way, I could hide for a little with the comfort of natures harsh environment. My movements halted when my foot snagged on a root hidden beneath the colourful autumn leaves, my arms flailing as I attempted to take the brunt of the fall on my elbows. My body hits the ground, the sting of my battles injuries tempting me to grimace as the uneven ground pricked at my cuts. I lay there for a moment, all my pent up adrenaline subsiding as the weight of what happened hits me like a tonne of bricks. All the energy in my body shrinks into the soil beneath me as I lay there scathed like a pathetic piece of prey, laid bare for a predators easy hunt.
A faint echo of footsteps picks up the last bit of vigour left in me; I jump up, not looking behind me as I jog the rest of the way to the open plain where the big oak tree still stands, luminous and mighty, like the anchor of a boat.
Resting against its burly trunk, I take a minute to catch my breath; my hands on my knees as the frigid air enters my lungs, not helping with my erratic breathing.
My head whips to the right when another heavy breather makes his entrance, the sticks crunching beneath his feet.
"Go away." I rasp, letting my eyes fall to the ground as shame clouds my features.
He doesn't advance towards me, but nor does he retreat, instead squatting down, one hand prompted on the ground to balance himself. Seemingly much braver then I, his gaze remains on me, so demanding that I can feel it even as my eyes remain down.
"Just don't." I slide down to the ground, adjusting myself against the many roots on the ground. Hiding my face, I borrow it into my arms, which rest on my scrunched up knees.
"I haven't said anything yet." He replies, seemingly recovered from his run here.
"Yeah well, don't." I mumble, tightening my arms around my knees.
"Okay, I won't." I hear him lowering himself to the ground, a soft grunt escaping his lips as he brushes away a few ferns sprouting from the ground.
I remain silent. But he doesn't pry, instead letting me ponder over what to say, convinced that I would speak at some point. I listened to the song chords ringing through the sky, feathered creatures chirping in the sky, calling their own to fly into their nests as night follows. The sky isn't dark yet, but early dusk caves in on us, the familiar colours spraying the sky.
"You're going to be here all night, you know." I grumble, refusing to let my words fall like vomit.
"I can wait." His voice is earnest, but he sounds sincere, a slight edge of impatience fracturing his tone.
I groan as I lift my head, leaning it against the oak tree, as I peer at Bakugou through lowered lashes, flickering my eyes at him and his strained sitting position, legs crossed over each other as one his hands holds up his head.
"Stubborn ass." I scoff, turning my head away.
"Considering you're the one who's been refusing to talk for half and hour, I'd beg to differ." He remains composed, not letting irritation creep into his voice.
I sigh to myself, my barriers slowly but surely crumbling. He'd seen that outburst, what would a vague explanation do?
"Well Katsuki, what do you want to know?" I ask, vulnerability seeping into my tone.
