Izuku's POV
Today would go down as the uprising of the press; headlines would never again skyrocket as they have this evening. Every minimum wage newspaper was adamant to take this opportunity to post to their meek article, and hope to at least reach top 20 in the charts. Yeah, today would go down as a rich mans drug, but those who were not looking for chaos at a chance for money, were huddled amongst each other, promptly discussing the discourse of what could only be described as an utter shitshow. Discuss, is putting it politely. It's an absolute bloodbath. An uproar was struck from the moment Sunako had disappeared into that portal, and there hasn't been a silent moment since.
I was eager to get away from the ensuing chaos, uninterested in my peers theories and 'I told you so's'. No one could've seen it coming, there was never an inkling of doubt I had in Sunako's character, her friendship. Hotaru Murakami was an evil scheming man, who's to say his admission wasn't just a ploy to frame Sunako for his own cruel plots? Even as I tried to convince myself that were true, black tendrils formed in my mind at the prospect of Sunako's supposed innocence. As if danger sense was not only protecting my physical self, but the evils lurking in my mind too. Despite whatever signs lay upon me, this wasn't just black and white. I truly valued Sunako as a friend, and it'd take more then whatever happened today to change that.
I leave the common room, but my steps fall short as I pick up the hushed voices conversing in the hallway right outside Mr. Aizawa's office.
"Doing anything rash will only inconvenience Sunako more, if you truly care you'll let me and the other teachers handle it."
"So what I'm just expected to stay here and do nothing as she's likely being tortured by the League of Villains?!?"
I'd recognize that voice anywhere, and I wasn't the slightest bit surprised that Bakugou was the only one among her friends coming to her defense. Although, there was a running suspicion among my classmates that 'friends' wasn't exactly how they'd phrase the pairs relationship. Regardless, whatever secret feelings that Bakugou harbored came to light the moment Sunako disappeared through Kurogiri's portal. He had thrashed like a wild animal under All Might's grip, even going as far as to bite his palm in order to get out of his hold. It took three teachers to detain him and hold his hands together, his explosions threatening to escape. It was no easier to calm him after his outbursts, soon after he had attempted to leave school grounds in order to hunt the L.O.V, as if the idiot had any idea where their base was. But Aizawa was right, acting irrationally wasn't going to help Sunako. We needed a plan.
I step out of the shadows, watching as the two turn their attention towards me, rigid at first but losing their tenseness after realizing who I was.
"Izuku, I think you ought to knock some sense into Katsuki before he gets us all into deeper shit."
"Why would he care? He's just like the rest of them, turned their back on her the second that evil prick swarmed the city's screens."
"Were you not the one who stood and watched as Shigaraki took her?"
He closed his fists, clenching his teeth as he stalked towards me, but not before Mr. Aizawa put one warning hand against his chest.
"Let's not patronize each other. Right now, it seems us three are the only ones Sunako has got."
"What?" Bakugou and I say at the same time, any animosity lost as we gain clarity towards what our teacher was implying.
