3. 'sweet tooth'

I woke up due to the alarm clock. I got out of Raines bed and headed to the kitchen to eat breakfast. I opened the fridge and there were only pizza, a few vegetables and two cans of soda.

- 'Raine wake up we have to go to the college.'
I shouted. In respond i heard only a long yawn.

Raine entered the kitchen.

- 'good morning sleepy head. We have only pizza to eat so we have to go shopping after college.'
I said.

- 'okay momm.'
They said ironically.

- 'haha. Very funny.'
I said in response and put pizza to the microwave.

We ate pizza and I ran to the bedroom to change my clothes. I wanted to go to the bathroom but Raine were faster. After getting ready i hurried Raine.

- 'c'mon Rainestorm we are going to be late.'

Raine got ready and we headed to the college. We're not like fully college roommates. We call ourselves like that because, we chose a small apartment in the middle of the town to live closer to the college. When we were here I headed to the physics class. Half an hour went by and my head started hurting like hell and I felt terrible. I waited till the end and texted Raine.

Calamity: Raine don't wait for me after college, I'm coming home because I feel terrible and my head hurts as hell.

Rainestorm: There is no way you are going to be home alone while being sick. I'm coming rn.

Sight. What did i expect. I was already  on the way back home. But I heard someone running after me. I looked back and saw green-haired person.

-  H-hey Eda! Slow down!'
They shouted.

I stood here for a moment to let Raine catch up with me.

- 'Why did you run? You know that i can survive on the streets on my own.'
I said.

- 'I know I was just worried about you.'

Aww. How sweet. I love them so much. But they don't feel it in the same way. Oh god I wish they knew. We made our way back home.

- 'ten bucks says you won't make it to the door before passing out.'
They said.

- 'shut up already.'
I said annoyed.

I headed to the couch and laid on it.

- 'White paint has more colors than your face. I've got some painkillers for you so you don't have to suffer so much.'
They joked.

- 'you really care about me that much? That's sweet.'

They blushed.

- 'I just want to keep you alive. Now take these and don't argue with me.'
They said and gave me medicine and a glass of water.

I took the painkillers and laid on the couch.

- 'hey Rainestorm. What was your nightmare about?'
I asked.

The looked at me. Their eyes expressed sadness.

- 'oh.. I never told you about this but I guess I can trust you. When I was younger my mon wanted me to be perfect. She always shouted at me or took away my favourite things. Once she took it too far and punched me right in the face. My dad never did anything about it because, he died when I was younger.'
They said. I felt tears in my eyes. Raine Whispers, a 20 year od had so much trauma to deal with. I instantly stood up and hugged them.

- 'I'm sorry to hear about this Raine. But you're safe now with me.'
I tried to cheer them up.

- 'Eda you can hug me but you must be on the couch. You're sick you have to rest.'
They said and putted me on the couch.

- 'I love you so much Raine. As a friend of course.'
I felt harm in my heart while saying this.

- 'I love you too Calamity.'
They anwsered.

I wish we could be more than just friends. Time passed by.

- 'Eda I'm going shopping, don't do anything stupid byeeee!'
I heard shouting from the hall and then the door shutting.

I am home alone. I decided to watch something since I have nothing else to do. I turned on the Netflix and looked up series called "I am not okay with this" and started watching. After second episode I zoned out. I've realised what's happening. I am madly in love with my best friend. We're never going to be something more. Tears started falling down my face. I paused the series and sat in a ball position. They don't love me. I mean they do but only in a friend way. I put on my headphones and played "sweet tooth" by cavetown. I was just sitting and listening to the song. Untill I heard a line: "I like you... say it back." And I broke down crying. I heard a door opening. I wiped away my tears and pretend to be okay. I forgot that I'm a bad actor.

- 'Hey Eda I'm back! I bought- were you crying?'
They asked with worry in their voice.

- 'what are you talking about? Of course not!'
I tried to act cool. But I failed. Damn it Eda.

- 'I can clearly see that something happened. Please just tell me.'
They begged.

- 'okay fine. I cried. But only because, my favourite character had bad time.'
I explained and lied.

They looked at me suspiciously but decided to let go. My head stopped hurting. It's almost midnight so I decided to go to sleep so I can rest. Raine did the same thing.

- 'goodnight Rainestorm.'

- 'goodnight Calamity.'

While falling asleep i was thinking only about Raine. I realised something again. Some people don't even know their crushes name. I live with my crush and we're besties. Oh god I'm so lucky. But still those people always end up dating their crush. What is not going to happen in my situation. That's kinda sad. But I have to deal with it.

Extra note

Sorry for not posting for like 5 or 6 days. I just had bad time just like Edas fav character had. And btw I wrote this chapter on paper in school bc I was bored. (They will end up dating.)
