The skies were plagued in everlasting darkness, a starless expanse stretching over a vast wasteland devoid of life. Örökkévaló had been in this state for decades now, entrapped in an everlasting night that was so relentless in nature that it had wiped out most of its population due to the fact that it robbed people of their sight.
A man stepped down onto the planet's rocky surface with a rigid expression, observing his surroundings with a watchful eye. As expected it was pitch black outside: the darkness had been described to be all-encompassing in its nature, so he had already been prepared for the case in which he would be robbed of his usual visual capabilities. To him, it wasn't much of an inconvenience, as his other senses were so greatly enhanced past human capabilities that it was unlikely he would have much difficulty navigating the terrain.
The planet of Örökkévaló was practically uncharted, with the records on its existence so limited that next to no information was known on the true nature of what came before the state it was now in. It didn't matter much to the man though, as he had no interest in such trivial matters. The only issue was that without much guidance, there wasn't a way to have a lead on where the Stellaron would be located.
He couldn't detect any signs of life on the planet, instead surrounded by an eerie silence. Although he could no longer relate to human mortality, he knew enough to understand that it would be quite easy to fall into insanity after being stuck in such a place for a long period of time. The human mind was painfully fragile, so much so that it was rather pathetic. The same people that claimed they were the deities of this world and leaders of all would lose their mind over being isolated by themselves. Without validation from those around them, their egos crumbled and revealed that their personalities were nothing but an empty husk of rotting cells.
He took a moment to adjust the cuff on his sleeve before setting off to observe his surroundings. The only information Silver Wolf had ascertained was that the terrain was flat and rocky with no areas of elevation.
Rubble and dilapidated buildings were scattered about in several places, likely remnants of the civilization that had once inhabited this planet. Large clouds of dust billowed at his feet with each step he took, however the lack of air flow prevented them from reaching any higher than his knees.
There were no signs of lifeforms of any sort which made the whole mission seem rather monotonous, but he would be a fool if he let his guard down simply because there hadn't been any signs of inhabitants thus far. Oh well. He knew that he would be able to take down anything and everything that came at him either way—exercising caution wasn't a necessity for him anymore. His hands had been stained with enough blood that those who were around him either had to be desensitized to it or they would be discarded. Fear is the greatest hindrance in the sort of lifestyle that he was living.
Human emotions, in every possible way, were a detriment to the most desirable lifestyle. He had given up his humanity in order to become the sharpest sword of them all, and it undoubtedly had shown sufficient results. Without the useless attachments that being a human manifested in one's mind he could shine on the battlefield and prove his everlasting loyalty to Destiny's Slave.
Suddenly, he paused in his tracks. He could taste the scent of a human being a few meters away. So there's at least one survivor. He let out a small breath as his lips curled into a small smirk, placing his hand on the sheath of his blade. There was an unwavering amount of hostility coming from the person, so much so that he could feel it without seeing their expression.
The person took a step towards him. "Yo."
He hadn't been expecting the person in front of him to speak, but he wasn't in the mind to chit-chat with a lone resident that likely would be nothing but deadweight in the long run. It's possible that they have information on the Stellaron. From his experience, the inhabitants of the places he went to weren't particularly eager to share that much information with him, so he didn't even bother getting his hopes up. He reached for the hilt of his sword. Even if he was chastised by his comrades later for being too hasty, he didn't have the patience to entertain a likely delusional and insane person. Moreover, their nonchalance at his appearance was just a testament to their likely nonexistent sanity.
"You're here for the Stellaron, aren't you?" They took another step forward and he could just barely make out a glimmer of their eyes in the darkness. There was something inhumane about them, desolate yet somehow full of cunning and malice. "You'll never find it on your own no matter how much you search, so let's strike a deal. I'll show you where the Stellaron is, then you'll take me with you when you leave. Sound fair?"
Oh? He ran his tongue over his teeth slowly, a sinister smirk spreading across his features. Maybe this will prove to be interesting after all.
