Chapter 10: Big Brother

One year has passed since I got accepted in the entertainment industry. Mr. Taishi has been a great help to me.

Under his tutelage, I became a great actor. I can't thank him enough. I also visited Mom, but that was two months ago.

Being an actor isn't only my job. But being Hero too. Nowadays, fewer criminal activities are going on, making my job easier.

But peace never lasts long for me.

Kai, dressed in his favorite black Time Patroller tracksuit and jeans, was at school with the Director and his friends from the division for the shoot of a school romance TV show. Although not directly involved, he wanted to observe the actors' abilities and improve his own skills while enjoying the plentiful food available.

As he stuffed his face, he heard a familiar voice. "I'm Ai from Strawberry Productions. I look forward to working with you today!" He paused to see Ai bowing, accompanied by Mrs. Miyako and the twins.

The Director approached Ai, scrutinizing her as she asked, "Is something the matter, Director?"

"No, nothing in particular," he replied.

"Kinda scary, isn't he?" Ruby whispered to Aqua.

"Yeah, that face of his," Aqua agreed.

The Director then asked, "Hm? Whose kids are these?" staring at the twins.

"Oh, they're my kids," Mrs. Miyako lied.

The Director shot them a dark stare. "The idea of a manager bringing her kids to the set..." This made everyone extremely nervous.

But a thought struck him down as he said, "This one of those work-style reform things?"

Ai looked confused. "Hm?"

The Director continued, "Signs of the times, huh?" ruffling his hair. "Well, some people even bring their dogs these days."

Everyone sighed in relief as Ruby spotted Kai waving at them.

"Mr. Kai!" she yelled, running toward him and attracting attention.

"Woah, Ruby," Kai said, lifting her onto his shoulder.

The Director noticed this and asked, "You know them?"

"Erm, yeah! Sometimes I play with them when I visit the agency," Kai quickly replied, a nervous chuckle escaping him.

The Director felt something was off but shrugged it off and walked away.

"Hey Kai! I didn't know you were here too," Ai said, approaching him with a bright smile.

"Yeah, I thought it would be good for me to observe," Kai replied, smiling back at her.

"Or did you come for the food?" Aqua interrupted, making everyone laugh. Embarrassed by the revelation, Kai shushed them and looked away, a sheepish grin on his face.

They soon settled down. As the set was filming, Kai felt two evil Ki and a familiar Ki suddenly appear above the city, making him jerked his head forward in surprise.

"Ehh?!" The rest of the staffs looked at him in annoyance, having almost messing up the recording but Kai paid them no mind.

"Aniki?" he wondered as he sensed that Shallot was fighting the two evil Ki signatures.

"Excuse me." as he goes out of the classroom. Aqua and Director, who were having a conversation outside, were interrupted by him running.

They felt suspicious of Kai's actions until someone called the director.
