TW: birth (if that's a trigger warning), kinda smut.

As I pushed with all my strength, I expected to hear the sound of my baby's cries filling the room. But to my horror, there was only silence. The doctor who caught the baby immediately noticed that he wasn't breathing and shouted at the nurses to bring him to the other side of the room.

"What's happening? Why isn't my baby crying?" I shouted, my heart pounding with fear and anxiety.

Ethan grabbed my hand and squeezed it tightly. His eyes were filled with tears, but he tried to remain strong for me. "Don't worry, everything will be okay," he whispered.

I felt helpless as the medical team rushed around the room, trying to revive my baby. It felt like an eternity before I heard a faint cry from the other side of the room.

"He's breathing!" the doctor exclaimed, holding up my tiny bundle of joy.

I burst into tears of relief and joy as they brought my baby over to me. I held him close, feeling his warm body against mine and hearing his soft cries. Ethan wrapped his arms around both of us, crying tears of happiness.

"We did it, Y/n. We have a beautiful baby boy," he said, kissing my forehead.

I looked down at my son, feeling an overwhelming sense of love and gratitude. Despite the scare, everything turned out alright, and I knew that I would cherish this moment forever.

As he held our newborn son in his arms, Ethan walked around the hospital room shirtless, beaming with pride and joy. It was a moment I will always remember, seeing the man I loved holding our baby so tenderly.

But then I started feeling a sudden wave of dizziness and nausea. I tried to whisper to Ethan that I wasn't feeling well, but before I knew it, I had fainted.

When I opened my eyes again, I saw Ethan sitting beside me, tears streaming down his face. "Oh, thank God you're awake," he said, his voice trembling with emotion.

"What happened?" I asked, feeling disoriented.

"You fainted, Y/n. The doctors say it's probably just exhaustion, but I was so scared. I thought I was going to lose you," he said, his voice cracking.

I felt a lump form in my throat as I saw the worry etched on Ethan's face. "I'm okay, Ethan. I just need to rest," I said, reaching out to hold his hand.

"I know, I know. But seeing you like that... it just reminded me of how much I love you and how much you mean to me," he said, wiping away his tears.

I smiled weakly at him, feeling grateful for his love and support. "I love you too, Ethan. And I love our little family," I said, looking down at our son.

Ethan leaned down to kiss me, his lips soft and gentle against mine. "We have everything we need right here," he said, holding me close.

As Ethan's lips were still attached to mine, the door suddenly opened and in walked our best friends, Victoria, Damiano, and Thomas. They all had smiles on their faces and were holding flowers and gifts for our newborn baby.

"Hey guys! Come and meet our little one," I said, smiling at our friends.

As Damiano reached out to take our baby in his arms, I saw Ethan's expression change. His face became tense, and he took a step forward, as if to protect our son.

"Ethan, what's wrong?" I asked, sensing his anxiety.

"I...I don't know. It's just that...after what happened during the birth, I feel like I need to protect him. I don't want anything to happen to him," he said, his voice trembling.
