Extra Chapter: Lucy's Side Story

"Thank you for taking me" Lucy bowed to a carriage driver "No problem, just be careful on the way, lass" said the driver.

"This place feels so breezy" The black haired looked at the vast meadow while walking.

"Oh that's... " Lucy saw a village in the distance "What a coincidence. I can stop there while looking for a ride to the next town" the glasses girl began to sped up her walk.

Lucy finally arrived at the village but she was greeted by a deserted village. Only a few people were tending to the livestock, tending the fields, or just passing by.

"huh?, what happens in this village?" The black haired girl wondered as she walked through the village "They all look tired and lethargic. Are they malnourished?".

"That's impossible. They have enough food" She saw that the some stall in the market still had some vegetables, fruits, bread and meats.

"Excuse me, where is the village chief's house?" Lucy asked a passing woman "He's over there" The woman pointed to an old man walking with a cane.

Lucy approached the old man "Excuse me, my name is Lucy. I'm an adventurer" Lucy showed her adventurer ID to the old man "I see something strange in this village. can you explain it to me?".

"My name is George, ojou-san" the village chief introduced himself "There was a strange phenomenon that happens in this village, for some reason many residents were so exhausted that they couldn't do their daily routines until they finally fell asleep for days".

"I see, maybe I should make some energy potions for these villagers" She thought "Is there an empty space I can use?"

"There's an unused warehouse over there" George pointed with his cane "Thank you, George-san" Lucy quickly headed towards the warehouse in question.

As soon as Lucy arrived at the warehouse she took out some glass tube, a water heater and some plants and herbs from her waist bag.

After that, Lucy began to boil the water she conjure. Then she cuts and grinds the plants and herbs and mixed them into a potion.

"Ojou-san, you don't have to make potions for each of these villagers" said George when he entered the warehouse where Lucy was working.

"But I can't let others suffer without trying to help them at all" Lucy reasoned "Not anymore, since that day..."

A few moments later, Lucy managed to make a few bottles of potion "It's finally done. My energy potion" Lucy looked at her potion vials.

"Here George-san, please distribute it to all the villagers affected by this disease while I make more potions" The glasses girl handed over a wooden box containing her energy potions to George.

Moments later, a man came to the warehouse where Lucy was working "Chief, we got bad news!" the young man shouted.

"The potion's effect only lasts for an hour?" Lucy is surprised to hear man's words "y-y-yes, the potion also has no effect if they drink again the second time".

"What's going on? Then this isn't an ordinary disease" Lucy think.

"Ojou-san, you've been quite helpful. At least we can provide a place for you to stay" George said.

"But, let's investigate more tomorrow. I also got tired too because of these petals and brewing those potion today" Lucy put the yellow petal into a wooden box from her waist bag. She then laid down on her bed and fall asleep.

The next day, Lucy report what she experienced last night to George at his house "I see" The village chief processing Lucy's explanation.

"George-san, is there any place near this village that could possibly be a monster's lair?" Lucy asked.

"There is one, but it's far away" George pick a map from his drawer and open it "Here, there is a hidden valley in the mountains about 2 kilometers north from here. people who have been there say they saw monsters in that place" George said.

"It could be the source of these strange phenomenon" The black haired girl looked at the place marked on the map.

"Chief, there are three female adventurers who just arrived in the village!" A young man arrived at George's house and reported.

"Ah, what a coincidence. Let's ask them to investigate that place" George walked out of his house "Wait George-san, I'm coming too" Lucy said.
