Chapter 25, Tension

Life right now is so crazy. I'm going to be moving out on my own soon. Life in general is crazy too because I have family coming over from Ireland this coming week as well.

"You have to be kidding me?" Tim demands loudly. "I won't tell you again. Go wait with the others" Bruce grunts in his batman voice as he leads Nightwing, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter into the briefing room.

"But she's my family too!" Tim shouts with furrowed eyebrows, his eyes hidden by his dark sunglasses.

He never got a response however as the door slid shut behind the caped crusader. With a frustrated grunt he turns on his heels and storms back to the common room.

"Entering the room, the first thing he noticed was how quiet it was. The team was scattered around the room doing various things to keep themselves busy. They had all been kicked out of the med bay when Wonder Woman called in Will Solace to take care of her. The only reason he was able to even get them out of the medical room was because of his grumpy boyfriend threatening them.

Aqualad leaned against the wall with his arms crossed and head down closest to the hallway leading to the medical wing. Wally was pacing the room anxiously as he chewed his thumb. Connor sat on the couch staring at the TV which was playing static. Something he still did on occasion, especially if he was upset or anxious.

Artemis sat against the wall cleaning her bow and arranging her arrows quietly. All the while, Megan sat next to Connor with a tray of blue cookies on the table. Nobody dared to touch them, wanting to save them for Percy. He hadn't even realized that Zatanna had arrived and was sitting there quietly.

Continuing his walk, he plugs his wrist device into the TV turning the constant snowy vision on the screen to pitch black.

"Hey!" Connor Protested half-heartedly but received no response from the young Robin.

Annoyed with being ignored, the clone stood and stormed over grabbing the boy's shoulder. "I was watching that" Connor grunts only to have his hand swatted off.

"Listen asshole! I get that you're upset but you're not the only one!" Connor shouts.

"Hey man. Don't talk to him that way" Wally cuts in grabbing Connors Wrist. "Or what?" the taller teen demands narrowing his eyes at the young speedster. "God, will you both just shut up" Artemis demands with a glare.

"Right, because what you're doing is so important" Connor shoots back.

"Please just stop fighting. We all know this is my fault" Megan tries to calm them down with tears pricking her eyes.

"Well, you got one thing right" Red Robin mutters. "Hey! Watch what you say bird boy" Connor growls.

"That's enough" Zatanna shouts over them. "Arguing amongst yourselves isn't going to make Percy wake up so either shut up or get along" the black-haired girl continues making them all go quiet.

"She's right" Aqualad states as the attention goes to him.

"Oh, so now you speak up. Our oh so fearless leader finally says something. You talk big when it comes to 'your princess'" Connor growls hands balled into fists, his voice dripping with sarcasm when he uses Percy's title.
