Wayne Christmas party

Wayne Manor 2 weeks before Christmas 9 pm

I usually woke up earlier but I arrived home late because of some criminals so Alfred began the preparations for tonight's party alone. It was a week ago when I promised Dick Grayson that I would adopt him. I managed to invite most of the suspicius powerful people from Gotham, Metropolis and Central City and of course the main league members (Flash, Wonder Woman, Martian, Green Lanter and Superman of course).

I took a  shower and got dressed. I went down to the living room and found Alfred in the ball room. Most of the tables were now clean thanks to Alfred, but there were still some that were covered because I've never used this room before. This is the biggest room in the house and my parents used to organize parties here but since they died I covered all the furniture and locked the door so Alfred wouldn't have to clean that room too.

"Good morning, Master Bruce" he greeted me and he wanted to continue his work but I took the cleaning cloth from him.
"I'll finish this. I need you to pick up Dick from the orphanage" I said as I started to clean down the next table.
"Alright sir, but after I return, you'll sit down with the young master and have breakfast. Oh, and Mr Kent phoned to say he would be here at 10" he said and then he left the house.

I told Clark nine o'clock but maybe something came up to him. I continued the cleaning and only one table remained when I heared the doorbell. I walked to the door and opened it. I had no doubt that it was Superman when I felt his lips on mines as soon as I opened the door. I didn't mind it, to be honest. I didn't see him for a week and missed him a lot.

We only leaned away from each other when we heared a car coming. He wore his normal clothes so Dick won't recognize him. I didn't tell Clark about him so I started to be nervous.

Alfred stopped the car in front of the entrance, Dick got out and Alfred drove away to park down the car to it's place. Dick walked directly to me and when I wanted to shake his hand, he hugged me. I didn't expected this but I hugged him back because I didn't want to see Clark's face. I wasn't ready for this yet.

"Hey Dick, how was your week?" I asked when we let go each other.
"Terrible as always, maybe a little bit better after the police captured that insane woman" he said smiling and I saw that he is very excited about the party.
"Excuse me, I don't think we met before. I'm Clark Kent, riporter from the Daily Planet" he said and they shook hands. I still didn't want to look up to him. I was afraid of what he'd think about this and that he might want to broke up. I didn't ask him about having a child.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Dick Grayson. I look forward to working with you" Dick said smiling and Clark gave me a confused look.
"I asked him to help me durring the party" I said and I took a deep breath to continue. "And I'll adopt him after that" I looked down to my feet, waiting for his answer but he just stepped to me for a gently kiss.
"Wait a minute! You're Superman!" Dick said after Clark and I let each other go from the kiss.
"How did you know?" he asked confused but Dick just took off his glasses instead of answering.
"Your disguise isn't as good as you think. Yours is better" he said pointing at me which made me smile.
"He knows your secret identity?"
"I'll explane everything to you later but we have to hurry now" I said as I closed the door after Alfred.
"Yes, Master Bruce is right we're in late but he have to has his breakfast, you can't escape from it this time" he said as he already disappeared in the kitchen and came back with a sandwich on a plate. He handed it over to me. "Now everyone, let's go to work"

Wayne Manor 6 pm

The Justice League arrived first in their costume and Clark was dressed like Superman. I gave Dick a suit and now he wore that. It suited him very well and I could see that he'll break many women's heart when he becomes older. I wanted the others to come in their costumes so we could provoke the guests to talk about them.

All the invited guests arrived at 7 pm. Everything went well and we could say that it was very boring but I was nervous about Dick. Maybe it was a bad idea to send him in the lion cage but he seems to do a good job.

I think Superman saw my nervousness  because suddenly he appeared next to me. "Are you alright?" he asked as he carefuly touched my hand. God, I missed him so much. I had to go meetings because of the end of the year and I also had to attend several Christmas charity balls. Plus I had a job as Batman too so we didn't meet with each other since we came back but he didn't seems like he regreted what happened between us.
"Yes, I'm okay, just keeping an eye on Dick" I said and I drank some of the champagne.
"You don't have to worry about him. He's a clever boy. He could find out my secret identity" he said and I couldn't help but laugh. "That's much better. I love when you're laughing" he whispered and the shivers went through on my spine but I answered him playfuly.
"To be honest your disguse is really s*cks" I said and he laughed in disbelief.
"But I think it's quiet good. You and your son is the only one who figured that out yet" he said and it was true. Not even Lois figured it out that Clark Kent is Superman.
"My son?" I asked back in shocked.
"Yes, he'll be your guardien son, won't he?"
"Yes, but I don't know if he would ever look at me as if I were his father" I said and I looked into Clark's beautiful blue eyes.
"You don't know something what I know and you're nervous about somebody else? What's happening to you?" he asked laughing but it was a too high ball for me to not answer his question without hesitation.
"You" I said seriously and he stopped laughing. He wanted to kiss me but I stepped away from him. "Not here and not now" I said and I stepped next to him again and whispered it to his ears. "Stay here for the night" I said and he nodded.

Wayne Manor 1 am

Finally everyone left the house, only the Justice League stayed. We were all listening Dick's report. He heared about a base in Alaska. The CADMUS get their weapons there. We have to look around there first and then destroy the base. I knew that I'll be the one who will go there spying.

After we agreed to come together for a meeting tomorrow the Justice League left the manor. I send Superman upstairs to my room because I wanted to talk with Dick.

"I'm proud of you. You did it better than I expected" I smiled at him and he smiled back tiredly.
"Thanks, but all I want now to have a shower and sleep 12 hours" he said jawning.
"I'll show you your room but before that I wanted to talk to you about your adoption" I started and the fear immediately appeared on his face. "Don't worry, I kept my promise and I already signed the papers. They are in my office but I wanted to ask something. Are you sure you want me to be your guard?"
"Of course!" he said without hesitation. "But I don't want you to adopt me if you don't want to have me"
"But I want you" I said also without hesitation. "There is one more thing we have to talk about. I'll be gone for two or three days to spy after the CADMUS"
"But I thought..."
"That we'll talk about this on the meeting, but we don't have time to waste. I'm the obvious choice. I'll be back on Tuesday" I said and he nodded.

I led him to his room (It was opposite mine). After I whished him good night, I took a deep breath and tried to prepare to tell Superman that he wouldn't see me for the next few days, again.
