After a slightly awkward car ride we arrived at our building. Percy was making faces at me, doing his best to make me laugh. Something he always did when I was mad at him, no matter how upset I was with him for doing that. I caved after a few more feeble attempts. Cracking a smile before gently pushing him.

"Alright dork I surrender," I state as we began walking to our floors, oddly enough he lived right above me. Small world, am I right?

"Hopefully we can hang out again soon," he says walking me to my door. I nodded giving him a quick hug.

"Absolutely!! You cant get rid of me that easily," I replied and he soon departed for his apartment on the floor above. With that I took out my keys and entered my home. Mom wasn't home but that was alright. So I decided to make dinner for us as a surprise.

After setting my bags in my room I went into the kitchen, looking through the fridge. Finding all the components to make stuffed chicken breasts with a creamy Alfredo sauce, paired with oven baked rice and strawberry shortcake. My mother always had a liking for strawberry flavoured things, so she'd often have them around the house.

As soon as I sliced a hole into the chicken, which I was careful doing. Since I practically grew up in the kitchen I was always cautious. But anyway once they had a decent slice in them, I stuffed them with the cream cheese mixture then coated them in an egg wash. After that each one was coated in crushed cornflakes.

As that cooked along with the rice, I went and made the strawberry shortcake. Once it was done I chilled it in the fridge until the chicken was done. Now I went on to warm up the sauce, which was just from a bottle. There's only so much a twelve year old can do with the supplies she had.

Cooking the whole meal only took about an hour, and just as I set the table my mother came waltzing through the door. A brilliant smile on her porcelain face.

"Welcome home my little thunder cloud," She says and I rushed over flinging my arm around her waist. If you're wondering about the nickname, it's just what she's always called me. Even I wasn't sure of the reasoning but I always sought comfort in it.

"Holy Jedi's did I miss you," I replied as she picked me up, spinning us around. Laughter filled the room, and joy flooded into my heart. Glad to see her after all this time, it had been Christmas break the last time I was home.

"I missed you more I think, it's always quiet here without you. Oh I ran into Percy's mom in the hall and she's invited us to go camping with her and Percy tonight. We'll go after dinner," she told me, setting me back onto my feet.

"Oh that'll be fun. Percy's told me so much about Sally. He's always describing her as a goddess, which is how I described you to him," I state and lead her over to the table where everything was set up.

"Oh my little chef has done a wonderful job again," she says pecking my cheek then we sat down enjoying our meal. Which I didn't know would be our last one together, for awhile.

A comfortable silence hung over us as we enjoyed each other's company. It was nice to be around her again, since I missed her. But also because I didn't have any girl friends so I'd always been around boys. Which was great, but some girl time was definitely needed.

After we finished eating, I went to pack some over night things for the journey. A few changes of clothes, some snacks along with a book or two. Reading was a great pass time, however I never could read in long intervals because of my ADHD. But it did distract my mind for awhile at least.

Once coming back into the entryway a knock was heard at the door and I went to answer it. Knowing already who it was.

"You must be Sally. Percy's very fond of you, and has told me great things about you," I greeted the woman who definitely was just how Percy described her.  A beautiful middle aged lady with the kindest eyes I'd ever seen, there were a few streaks of grey in her dark hair but other than yet she looked her age. The boy blushed at the mention of his name, but the woman smiled at me.

"He's told me lovely things about you as well Naomie," Sally admitted causing Percy to gently smack her arm and give her a look. One that meant not to embarrass him.

"I would hope so," I giggled wiggling my brows at him as mom came up behind me "I'd like to think we balance out each other's troubled natures," adding a wink for some flare. Or just to embarrass him slightly.

"You might be on to something with that statement there kiddo," Mom chuckled greeting the two and quickly we walked down the stairs with our things.

Mom took my things and put them in her car, whilst Sally put hers and Percy's stuff in their car. Just then the most revolting looking, and smelling man came bustling over to Sally. Grumping and complaining about not ruining the car.

"Who in the Jubba the Hutt is that?" I asked Percy, pinching my nose slightly since I could smell the dude from where I stood.

"Unfortunately my step father," he states through gritted teeth. Clearly despising the man with every fibre of his being.

"Gross I've seen sewer rats cleaner than that. Why would a gorgeous woman like your mother marry such a grotesque beast?" I asked, perhaps already knowing the answer. Or at least lack of answer.

"I've been asking myself that for my whole life Mimi," he replied and then the gross man came over to us. Being completely rude, even to me and I didn't say anything. However his tone didn't set right with me and as he was walking back to the door a strong wind pushed him over and another strong force smacked into him. Sending him flying up the stairs, feet flinging around as they tried finding the floor.

I'm not sure what happened but Percy and I shared a look, with similar smirks. Then we both departed ways, saying we'd see eachother at the cabin. I couldn't wait for the fun to begin.....
