After leaving the warehouse we wandered a good distance away before making a camp for the night. I shared what little provisions I had with the group. It wasn't much, just a few sandwiches and some granola bars, but at least it filled our stomachs. Percy and Annie didn't eat much, still full from their splurge at the gorgons place. We also raided whatever snacks Medusa had in her kitchen.

"Let me look at your arm Perce," I asked digging through the supplies Will packed for me. There was ointment and bandages among other things. I knew what all of the things were for, despite never really knowing much about healing. Other than putting peroxide on open cuts and covering it with a bandaid. Must be due to my brother's blessing.

"It's fine Mimi, really," he states trying to scoot away from me and soon got up to run away. However I simply chased after him.

"PERSEUS JACKSON GET BACK HERE!" I yelled tackling him to the ground, pinning him to the ground on his back. A knee on either side of his hips, keeping him in place.

"Alright I surrender. Get off me you big lug," he chuckled and I let him sit up. However I still sat on his legs because I knew if I truely let him go, he'd make a break for it.

Very gently I took his arm and began cleaning the blistering skin with water from my canteen. Then proceeded to rub the ointment on it, covering it in some gauze. Once I was happy with the tightness of the bandage I gave him a small square of ambrosia. Which I had learned was the food of the gods, and can help heal demigods in the smallest of doses.

"Given how you two act when together, you'd think you both grew up around eachother," Annie pointed out, trying to make a fire. It didn't take her that long, which was impressive. And soon we were all sitting about the flames, trying to stay close in case we got jumped.

"Actually we've only met and began hanging out last fall when school started," Percy replied however the look on Grover's face said otherwise.

"Alright what aren't you telling us Grover?" I asked taking in his nervous state. He'd been acting like that ever since he told us that our mothers were friends.

"Nothing that you don't already know, but I do sense a deeper connection between you two. When this is all over you'd better ask your mother's about it," he replies letting out a bleat at the end. After that I laid down on my sleeping bag and dozed off not long after that.

The next morning I awoke to something thrashing into my arm. Slowly opening my eyes I saw Percy asleep next to me. However he was thrashing around, mumbling in his sleep. Most likely having a nightmare, which was often as of late.

"Hey Percy it's alright," I soothed him, gently shaking his arm. Waking him up in the process, and he sat up abruptly. Shaking slightly, as the last traces of fear crept through his body.

"The zombies awaken," Annie says throwing bags of chips at us. The sun was shining brightly down on us. Making me feel comforted by the presence of it.

"How long were we out?" Percy asked looking around wearily. He had to take my hand to stop his from the shaking it was doing.

"Long enough for Grover to go exploring. Look what he found," she replies pointing over at the satyr, who seemed to be conversing with a pink poodle.

Turns out the dog was missing and the owners would pay handsomely for its safe return. Grover asked us to say hello to Gladiola, and I did without hesitation. Yet Percy refused, causing him to get growled at. To which then he complied. Making the poodle happy once more.

The dog didn't really want to go back to his family, but he was willing to help out Grover. Since the Satyr was incredibly kind to him. But by turning him in, we'd have enough money for transportation to get us closer to LA.

"Please not another bus," Percy pleaded, not wanting a repeat of what happened yesterday. Honestly if we got attacked this much already, it's a wonder how we managed to survive this long without training.

"Gladiola says the Amtrak train leaves at noon, as long as we turn him in before then we can take the train," Annie states causing me to smile. Finally comfy starting, and hopefully less deadly travel.

The reward money, combined with mine was enough to get us as far as Denver. And we spent two peaceful days on the train. We couldn't get a cabin with beds, so we had to sleep in our seats. Also I was able to charge my mp3 player, so I mainly listened to music during the whole thing.

There was a few times I woke up with Percy's head on my shoulder, a small patch of drool seeped into the fabric of my shirt. Not that it bothered me. However I decided against teasing Percy about it, since it would only embarrass him, and prove Annie right about him drooling in his sleep.

Oh and another thing, is Percy is now wanted for questioning by the mortal police. Pertaining to the disappearance of Sally. There was even a witness who spotted us defeating the Furies. Only they thought we beat the crap out of defenceless old ladies. It just goes to show how much they actually see due to the mist. Also Grover, Annie and I are also being pursued as accomplices.

On June 13, we made a stop in St Louis. We had just eight days to find the bolt and return it to Zeus. It was also eight days until my 13th birthday. The second the train stopped Annie began pleading about going to see the gateway Arch, which to me wasn't that interesting. But we had some time to kill before we departed again.

So we walked about a mile to see it. The second we entered the underground museum, Grover took his nose out of his bag of jelly beans. Sweat pooled down the side of his face.

Which could only mean one thing, he sensed a monster......
