Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, there was a young woman named Mary. Mary was a very special woman because God had chosen her to be the mother of Jesus.

"Mommy, who is Jesus?" asked the little girl.

"Well sweetie," her mom replied, "Jesus is God's son. He was sent to earth to save us and show us how much God loves us."

One day, an angel named Gabriel appeared to Mary and told her that she would have a baby boy named Jesus.

"Mommy, did Mary know what to do?" asked the little girl.

"Well sweetie," said her mom, "Mary was surprised and a little scared, but she trusted in God's plan for her life."

A few months later, Mary and her husband Joseph traveled to Bethlehem to be counted in a census. They couldn't find a place to stay in an inn, so they stayed in a stable with the animals.

"Mommy, what's a stable?" asked the little girl.

"Well sweetie," her mom replied, "a stable is a place where animals live. It's not a fancy place to stay, but it was the best they could find."

While they were in the stable, Mary gave birth to Jesus.

"Mommy, was Jesus born like other babies?" asked the little girl.

"Yes sweetie," said her mom, "Jesus was born just like any other baby, but He was special because He was God's son."

That night, some shepherds who were watching their sheep outside of Bethlehem saw a bright light in the sky. They followed the light and found Jesus lying in a manger.

"Mommy, what's a manger?" asked the little girl.

"Well sweetie," said her mom, "a manger is a feeding trough for animals. That's where Jesus slept that night."

A few days later, some wise men from the east saw a star in the sky that led them to Jesus. They brought Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

"Mommy, why did they bring gifts?" asked the little girl.

"Well sweetie," said her mom, "they brought gifts to show honor to Jesus because they recognized Him as the King of the Jews."

Through this story, the little girl learned about the power and love of God, and how He sent His son Jesus to be born as a baby on earth. Her mom helped her understand that Mary was a special woman who listened to God and trusted Him to guide her life. And she learned that Jesus is the King of the Jews and that we can honor Him by giving Him our love and respect.
