Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, there was a man named Moses. Moses was a good man who loved God very much.

"Mommy, who was Moses?" asked the little girl.

"Well sweetie," her mom replied, "Moses was a man who listened to God and did what He said, even when it was hard."

One day, God spoke to Moses and told him to go to Egypt to free the Israelites, who were God's people, from slavery.

"Mommy, what's slavery?" asked the little girl.

"Well sweetie," said her mom, "slavery is when someone else owns you and makes you work for them without pay. It's not fair and it's not right."

So Moses went to Egypt and asked Pharaoh, the king, to let the Israelites go. But Pharaoh said no.

"Mommy, why did Pharaoh say no?" asked the little girl.

"Well sweetie," said her mom, "Pharaoh didn't want to let the Israelites go because he wanted them to keep working for him."

But God sent plagues on Egypt, to show Pharaoh that He was more powerful than any other god. And finally, Pharaoh let the Israelites go.

"Mommy, did they just walk away?" asked the little girl.

"No sweetie," said her mom. "They had to walk through the desert to get to the land that God had promised them. And when they came to the Red Sea, they couldn't go any further because the water was in the way."

The little girl was worried. "What did they do?" she asked.

"Well sweetie," said her mom, "God performed a miracle and made a path for them through the sea. The water stood up on both sides, and the Israelites were able to walk through on dry ground."

"Wow, that's amazing!" said the little girl.

"Yes it is, sweetie," said her mom. "God can do anything."

Through this story, the little girl learned about the power and love of God, and how He takes care of His people. Her mom helped her understand that Moses was a man who listened to God and did what He said, even when it was hard. And she learned that God can do miracles, like parting the Red Sea, and that we can trust in Him to take care of us.
