After Jesus rose from the dead, He went back to heaven. But He didn't leave us alone. He sent the Holy Spirit to be with us and help us.
"Mommy, what's the Holy Spirit?" asked the little girl.
"Well sweetie," her mom replied, "the Holy Spirit is a part of God that helps us understand and follow Him."
One day, the Holy Spirit came to the disciples in a special way. They were gathered together for the day of Pentecost when suddenly they heard a sound like a rushing wind and saw flames of fire on their heads. The Holy Spirit gave them the ability to speak in other languages so that everyone could understand them.
"Mommy, did they know how to speak other languages before?" asked the little girl.
"No sweetie," said her mom, "the Holy Spirit gave them the ability to speak in ways they never could before."
Another time, Peter and John were walking to the temple when they saw a man who couldn't walk. They healed him in Jesus' name and then used the opportunity to preach about Jesus to the crowd.
"Mommy, did the man start walking again?" asked the little girl.
"Yes sweetie," said her mom, "Peter and John prayed for him and he was able to walk again."
And then there was Saul, who didn't like Christians at all. But one day, he had a big change of heart. He was traveling to Damascus when suddenly he saw a bright light and heard Jesus' voice.
"Mommy, did Jesus really talk to him?" asked the little girl.
"Yes sweetie," said her mom, "Jesus talked to Saul and he became a follower of Jesus. His name changed to Paul, and he traveled all over the world to tell people about Jesus."
Paul went on many journeys, telling people about Jesus and starting new churches. He even wrote letters to the churches, which are now part of the Bible.
Through this story, the little girl learned about the Holy Spirit and how it helps us understand and follow God. She also learned about the power of Jesus' name to heal and the importance of sharing the good news with others. And she learned about Paul, who traveled all over the world to tell people about Jesus and spread the gospel.
