Jesus had done many amazing things, but there was one thing that was even more amazing than all the rest. He died on the cross to save us from our sins, and then He rose from the dead three days later.

"Mommy, why did Jesus have to die?" asked the little girl.

"Well sweetie," her mom replied, "Jesus died on the cross to take away our sins. He did it because He loves us and wants us to be close to God."

Before Jesus died, He had a special meal with His friends. He gave them bread and wine and said, "This is my body and blood, which are given for you. Do this in remembrance of me."

"Mommy, what does 'remembrance' mean?" asked the little girl.

"Well sweetie," said her mom, "it means to remember something important that happened. We remember Jesus and His sacrifice for us when we take communion."

After the meal, Jesus was arrested and put on trial. He was sentenced to death and was crucified on a cross.

"Mommy, what's a cross?" asked the little girl.

"Well sweetie," her mom replied, "a cross is a special kind of torture device that was used a long time ago. It was a very painful way to die."

But even though Jesus died on the cross, He didn't stay dead. On the third day, He rose from the dead and appeared to His friends.

"Mommy, how did He come back to life?" asked the little girl.

"Well sweetie," said her mom, "Jesus had power over sin and death. He came back to life to show us that we can have eternal life with Him."

Through this story, the little girl learned about the incredible sacrifice that Jesus made for us by dying on the cross. Her mom helped her understand that Jesus did it because He loves us and wants us to be close to God. She also learned about the power of Jesus' resurrection and how it gives us hope for eternal life.
