Jesus did many amazing things when He lived on earth. He healed the sick, fed the hungry, and even calmed the stormy sea.
"Mommy, how did He calm the storm?" asked the little girl.
"Well sweetie," her mom replied, "Jesus had the power to do miracles. He just spoke and the storm stopped."
One time, Jesus and His friends were in a boat on the sea when a big storm came. His friends were scared, but Jesus calmed the storm and they were safe.
"Mommy, did they get wet?" asked the little girl.
"Yes sweetie," said her mom. "They probably got wet, but they were okay because Jesus was with them."
Another time, there was a big crowd of people who had been following Jesus all day. They were hungry, but there was only a little bit of food - five loaves and two fish. But Jesus prayed and miraculously multiplied the food, so that everyone had enough to eat.
"Mommy, how did He do that?" asked the little girl.
"Well sweetie," said her mom, "Jesus had the power to do miracles. He made the food multiply so that everyone could eat."
Jesus also taught many important things. He told stories to help people understand God's love and forgiveness.
"Mommy, what's forgiveness?" asked the little girl.
"Well sweetie," said her mom, "forgiveness is when we choose to not be angry at someone who has hurt us. It's a way to show love, just like God forgives us when we make mistakes."
One of the stories Jesus told was about a man who was robbed and left for dead on the side of the road. Two important people passed by and did nothing to help, but a kind man from a different country, called a Samaritan, stopped and helped the man.
"Mommy, why did he help him?" asked the little girl.
"Well sweetie," said her mom, "he helped him because he saw someone in need and chose to show love and compassion."
Jesus also told a story about a man who wasted all his money and ended up living with pigs. But when he returned home, his father forgave him and welcomed him back with open arms.
"Mommy, why did the father forgive him?" asked the little girl.
"Well sweetie," said her mom, "the father forgave him because he loved him and wanted him to come back home."
Through these stories, the little girl learned about the power and love of Jesus, and how He did amazing things to help people. Her mom helped her understand that Jesus taught about love, forgiveness, and God's kingdom, and that we can show love and compassion to others, too.
