Once upon a time, there was nothing. But there was someone there - God. He was there before anything else existed.
"Mommy, where did God come from?" asked the little girl.
"Well sweetie," her mom replied, "God has always been there. He's the one who made everything else!"
"Wow!" said the little girl in amazement.
One day, God decided to create the world. He did it in seven days. On the first day, He created light.
"Can you imagine a world without light, sweetie?" asked her mom.
"No, I can't," said the little girl.
On the second day, God created the sky. On the third day, He created land and water, and all the plants and trees.
"Mommy, I love trees!" said the little girl excitedly.
"I do too, sweetie," said her mom. "They're one of the things God made that we can take care of and enjoy."
On the fourth day, God created the sun, the moon, and the stars. On the fifth day, He created all the birds and fish. The little girl loved the idea of all the different animals God had made.
"On the sixth day," her mom continued, "God created all the land animals. And do you know what else He created on that day?"
"No, what?" asked the little girl.
"He created man and woman," said her mom. "That's you and me, sweetie!"
The little girl was amazed that God had made her and her mom. She loved the idea that God made everything in the world.
"And on the seventh day," her mom said, "God rested. He was very happy with everything He had made."
The little girl felt happy too, knowing that God had made such a wonderful world. She cuddled up with her mom and smiled contentedly.
Through this story, the little girl learned about the wonder of creation and the love and power of God. Her mom helped her understand that God is the source of everything, and that He made everything for us to enjoy and take care of.
