She turned her head away. He pressed the pad of his thumb to her chin and made her face him again. Eyes locked, they stared at each other for what felt like an eternity. Everything in her was screaming to give in. Just kiss him, no one has to know, do it, you want to.
"You don't really want this." Stevie shook her head weakly, she had to keep him talking. "You're married."
"So is Lindsey." Dave replied and her lips parted as if to say something. "You might not think so, but I know you well."
"You're- you're drunk. You don't know what you're doing." She had to suppress a moan, when he trailed her bottom lip with his thumb.
"I'm far from being wasted and so are you." He gave her a pointed look. "Fine." He said. "If you don't want to-" He stepped back as he spoke, but she reached for his hand and pulled him back.
"I never said, I didn't want to." She reminded him as her fingers slid into his hair and she rose to stand on her tiptoes as their lips finally locked.
Too many years had passed since she felt this desired. Lindsey was a safe bet. He was always going to be there, when she wanted him to. While she never had any complaints, they'd been sleeping together on and off for the past 40 years after all. But this? This was different. This was someone else, someone new, someone much younger, who had her trapped in between his body and the wall behind her. His hands everywhere at once, roaming her body, kissing her hungrily, she could barely breathe. She held onto him tightly, afraid that her knees would give out and she wouldn't be able to stand up straight. The fact that they weren't being exactly discreet didn't even matter, not until she heared a faint ding of the elevator down the hall.
"Wha- what? Did I do something wrong?" Dave asked, alarmed and confused, when Stevie broke their kiss and pushed at his chest.
"S-someone's c-coming." Stevie managed to say, catching her breath. "Oh God..." She ran her fingers through her hair to fix it, avoiding his eyes. "What the hell was that? I- you should go."
"But I don't want to go." Dave shook his head, closing the small gap between them. "I-"
"No, you don't know what you're saying." Stevie held up her hands to keep him from coming any closer. "There's still a way out of this. I mean, we definitely shouldn't have kissed, but we haven't crossed all the lines yet. I- I-" She trailed off, looking at him wide-eyed.
"Stevie..." Dave tried touching her, but she freed her hand from his hold instantly. "I don't regret it."
"You should go." She repeated.
Sighing heavily, Dave shifted his gaze for a second, he then looked at her again. "Okay. Alright, I'll go, but this isn't over." He showed between them.
"You'll be saying something entirely different once you sober up." Stevie smiled somewhat sadly at him.
"I'll be calling you once I sober up." He promised before walking away.
