AN: I'm gonna do a time jump here. To a few weeks before Christmas 2012. Lena is about a year and a half old now.
December 10th 2012
"Ace?" Logan called out when he got home from work and picking up Lena "are you home?"
"Uh...yeah!" Rory called out from the bathroom, sounding nervous
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing" Rory said quickly
Logan walked up the stairs and put Lena down in her room, taking the baby monitor with him, before heading into his and Rory's room
"Ace?" Logan asked but got no response "Rory?" He walked into the bathroom to see Rory sitting on the edge of the bathtub staring at something on the counter. "Are you ok?" Logan looked to see what Rory was staring at. His eyes shot over to Rory "is that a-?"
"Yup" Rory interrupted him
"Is it-?"
"Don't know yet" Rory said, once again not needing him to finish the question
"Do you think-?"
"I don't know" Rory sighed
Logan sat down next to Rory and a minute later the timer went off. Neither of them moved.
"I can't look at it" Rory said
Logan stood up and walked over to the counter. He picked up the pregnancy test, looked at Rory and shook his head.
"Oh..." Rory exhaled
"Were you um...were you hoping it'd be positive?" Logan asked
"I wasn't sure but now that I know it's negative I think I was" Rory admitted
"If I'm being totally honest...I would've been over the moon if it was positive"
"Are you saying-?"
"Do you wanna try to have another baby?"
"Let's do it" Rory smiled
Logan pulled her into a tight hug
"Logan, where's Lena?"
"She's fine. She's playing in her room, and I have the monitor in my pocket"
"Ok"
Christmas went by quickly followed by new years and Valentine's Day.
March 2013
"Uh oh" Lena said when she dropped her cup on the floor
"Here munchkin" Logan picked up the sippy cup and put it on the table in front of Lena
"Where mama?"
"Mama's still at work"
"No no no" Lena shook her head
"Yes yes yes" Logan kissed Lena's cheek and lifted her out of her chair "and it's bath time"
"No bath!"
"Logan?" Rory walked into the house a few minutes later
"Upstairs!"
Rory walked up the stairs and into the bathroom when Logan was giving Lena a bath.
"Hi" Rory said
"Hi" he kissed her
"Hi baby" Rory leaned down and kissed the top of Lena's head
"how was work?" Logan asked
"I wrote an article, proofread 3 more and did and endless amount of fact checking" Rory told him "how about you?"
