"I can't believe she's gonna be a year old" Rory said as she snuggled into Logan on the couch while they were watching a movie
"I know"
"I wanna go check on her" Rory started to get up but Logan pulled her back down
"She's fine, Ace"
"You don't know that"
"Yes I do" Logan held up the baby monitor where they could see and hear Lena
"Fine" Rory settled back into Logan's arms
"Watch the movie" he kissed her shoulder

"Hey! There's the birthday girl!" Rory said excitedly when Logan brought Lena into their room the next morning.
Logan put Lena down in the bed next to Rory and got back into bed
"Oh, you're so big!" Rory hugged Lena
"No no no" Lena babbled
"That's right! No no no. No more growing. You're growing too fast" Rory kissed Lena's cheek
"Oh! I almost forgot!" Logan jumped out of bed
"Where are you going?"
"I'll be right back" Logan said before running out of the room
"Where's he going?" Rory asked Lena in a high pitch voice "where'd he go?"
"Ok" Logan came running back into the room "first of all...here" he handed Rory a bottle of water and her meds
"What's behind your back?"
"Meds first"
"Fine" Rory opened the water bottle "just for the record I don't need you to give me my meds. I can do it myself"
"I know"
Rory took the pill "ok, now what's behind your back?"
"This" Logan held up a little T-shirt with a newspaper on it with the headline: 'Lena's 1st birthdays' and all the little articles were facts about Lena
"Oh. My. God." Rory laughed "that's amazing!"
"I thought you'd like it"
"I do, thank you!" She took the shirt from him
"You're very welcome" he kissed her
"Although you do know that this and the whole party today are entirely for us, right? She doesn't even know that it's her birthday"
"So what if it's for us?" Logan sat down on the edge of the bed next to Rory
"I'm just saying" Rory shrugged

"Hey!" Rory said when she opened the door for Lorelai and Luke who were the first to get there for Lena's birthday party
"Hey! Where's the birthday girl?" Lorelai asked
"Logan's getting her dressed. They'll be down in a minute"
"How are you feeling?" Lorelai asked
"Fine. Why?"
"Just checking"
"Ok..."
"How's your arm?" Luke asked
"It doesn't hurt so much any more"
