Chapter 21: The Wedding

It wasn't as fancy as the ones from Y/N's memory, but that's exactly how she wanted it. The wedding may not have been how she planned it originally but she wouldn't change a thing

It was the big day and she was nervous, so nervous about not being able to see Senku she was having a moment

Kohaku sat next to her, "Are you excited?"

"Of course, why?"

"The groom-to-be keeps yelling 'get excited' over and over, I think he's as nervous as you..." she smiled

"That's sweet of you to say but..." she took a deep breath, "I have an anxiety disorder so I doubt it"

"I don't know what that is but everything is gonna be fine! You're surrounded by people who want what's best for you..."

"Yeah, but what I'm most excited for is seeing him dressed up, I was told it was hard to find the right materials for a suit so Tsukasa 'improvised', and I don't know what to think of that... "

"Trust me it's amazing, and you look amazing and beautiful... You're going to do great, are you ready?"

"Ready as I'll ever be," she stood up, "Let's go"

They pulled the makeshift curtain and she slowly walked down the isle to avoid tripping over herself

Senku stared in awe

She's the most magnific being I've ever see...

As she got to the alter all eyes were on them

Ruri officiated the wedding as priestess, "We don't do vows here, but you said you've written your own, so Senku..." she gestured

He took a shaky breath, "Ok, Y/N, my angel... Since the day I've met you I was continually impressed and inspired by how you took care of everyone around you. You are the most beautiful and violent person I've ever met and honestly? I could never live without you... When I was un-petrified one of the first things I thought of was getting you back, and when I found you again I legitimately believed you were a figment of my imagination, but here you are... You're real and you're here and and, and I love you..."

She almost started crying, "Senku, my darling, when I first met you my first thought was 'What a nerd!'" The village laughed, "But then, 'I will protect you all of my life' because I never want you to hurt, I will protect you until my final breath... And if anyone decides to try and fight me I will decimate them in your name, love... Once I got to know you I just so happened to realize I never wanted to be apart from you, and I enjoyed our walks on the roof of the school where we talked science and video games, and never in my life did I picture this, but I wouldn't change a thing... I love you Senku Ishigami..."

Ruri smiled, "I now pronounce you husband and wife! Now kiss!"

He cradled Y/N's face and gently kissed her lips, the village was ecstatic, "Who's ready for cake?!?" Y/N called out to the guests, she cut it with a hunting knife and handed out the slices

Everyone loved how it tasted, 'The sweetness dances on my tongue!'

It got darker and started to rain just after everyone had their cake, but Y/N looked happy instead of sad

"Hey angel, do you remember what you've always wanted to do?" He grabbed her hand and put a palm on her hip

They waltzed around for a little bit until the sky opened up and the rain ceased

"I didn't think you remembered me saying that in passing my love... I'm glad you did though," she snuggled up to his chest both completely content

As the night closed, the newly married couple made their way to their cabin in the woods, the guests slept soundly as they made their marriage official...

This night was truly perfect...
