Grave danger

A few hours ago.

"Kaalandha kanda!" Periya Pazhuvettaraiyer roared, His voice projected extreme anger. Kundavai followed her thatha closely, her face painted with concern.

"Yes, Anna?" Chinna Pazhuvettaraiyer ran up to him immediately.

"Where are the boys?" Periya Pazhuvettaraiyer asked.

Chinna Pazhuvettaraiyer's expression tightened at the question. "I thought they were in their chambers,"

"They're not there! I've checked everywhere!" Kundavai let out before Periya Pazhuvettaraiyer could speak.

"Anna, I was at the gates tightening the security since Brahmarayar warned us about a rebel attack," Chinna Pazhuvettaraiyer explained. "They might've gone out when I was busy checking the other gates,"

"Is this why I made you the kotai thalapathi? Two small boys threw sand in your eyes and escaped," Periya Pazhuvettaraiyer shook his head in disappointment. Chinna Pazhuvettaraiyer looked down and frowned.

"Thatha, don't keep talking! do something," Kundavai said getting anxious by the moment.

"Get our men ready, The Princes are in grave danger," Periya Pazhuvettaraiyer said. "Kundavai, You stay here," Before he could turn back to leave, He heard Kundavai shout.

"No!!" Kundavai shook her head and stomped. "I will come!" She protested. She was worried sick thinking about the situation her brothers were in.

"No, it's dangerous," Periya Pazhuvettaraiyer announced. Before Kundavai could talk back, he jumped on his horse and rode off.

Kundavai turned back to Chinna Pazhuvettaraiyer and raised a brow.

"I'm sorry Ilaya pirattiye, I can't break my brother's orders," He said. Kundavai threw her arms in the air and whined.

Periya Pazhuvettaraiyer and his men rushed to the Veera Narayana Lake in search of the boys. The old man prayed as they sped past the bustling streets of Thajai for the boys to be alive and well.

Presently

"Time out," Adithan breathed out as his back hit the tree and winced, unable to bear the pain. His consciousness was hanging onto a piece of thread. Just as he thought all hope was lost, he heard the cluttering sounds of horses from afar. "Nandini! Take Arulmozhi and go!" Adithan yelled with his last bit of energy.

Nandini hesitated. The sounds of the horses were getting distant by the minute.

"You, I, and Arulmozhi will all die a very painful death if you just keep standing there!" Adithan said as he fended off another one of their attacks.

"Why won't you just die!" The rebels scowled.

Nandini arched her eyebrows and fisted her hands. She sensed the logic in his word and finally agreed. She held Arulmozhi's arms, but the younger Prince shook his head and shrieked "Anna!"

"Ilavarese, Come!" Nandini said as she pulled Arulmozhi away from the gory battle. Arulmozhi screamed, kicked, and cried as Nandini dragged him through the forest in search of the guards.

"Someone help!" Nandini screamed in the general direction. Arulmozhi shook off Nandini's arms and began running as he heard Periya Pazhuvettaraiyer's voice in the distance. "Ilavarese!" Nandini groaned as she followed him.

"Thatha!" Arulmozhi cried out as he jumped down a ledge.

Nandini followed him but halted to a stop as soon as she saw the royal guards. She got nervous and hid herself behind a tree.
