Third Person POV:Touya storms through the castle, followed by two heavily armed and covered guards.
He opens the door to the scientists office, where around seven people were talking inside. They went quiet when he entered.
"I need an explanation." He orders.
One scientist steps forward, bowing before speaking. "Your Majesty, we don't know he exact reason the disease started spreading, but-"
"Then find out!" Touya growls loudly. "That's your job, right?!"
He turns to a guard. "And someone get Shouto!" He shouts.
One of the guards nods and leaves the room, while Touya walks to the table.
"I want masks distributed around to every village." He says, tapping the table twice with his pointer finger. "Make a emergency announcement about this as well. Make sure every single TV is showing it."
A scientist nods, and leaves to go talk with the technicians. Another one leaves as well, going to make the masks distribute.
Touya sighs, rubbing the bridge of his nose.
"You are all going to find out what this is," He starts, suddenly deadly calm. "You are going to figure this out, and then you are going to tell me."
The scientists nod, and Touya leaves the room, slamming the door.
He walks down the hallway, and another guard comes up to him. "Your Majesty, please take this mask." She says, holding out a plain white surgical mask.
Touya regards it as someone would regard a piece of grass, completely blankly.
He takes it, looping the strings around his ears. It looked surprisingly pretty, since the white mask went with his white hair and blue eyes perfectly.
"I'm going to my quarters." Touya says, his voice ever so slightly muffled by the mask.
The guard nods, and Touya continues walking down the hallway. He walks all the way to his room, where he looked around in surprise.
The windows were closed, sealed tight and covered in plastic. The bedding was exchanged for new cleaner ones, everything has a new shine and covering to it.
Touya frowns. "Get my siblings to their rooms as well." He says. "Reschedule our next meetings with advisors and representatives of other kingdoms for as long as this last."
The guard shifts on her feet. "Your Majesty, is it wise to have everyone separated in their rooms?" She questions. "Isolation isn't always the best thing."
Touya turns to the guard. "Are you saying I should let them get sick?" He warns.
The guard immediately backtracked. "No, no, Your Majesty!" She says. "I'm simply worried everyone will become-"
"It is not your place to be worried." Touya says. "They can leave their rooms. Just make sure they don't interact with anyone who is sick or might be sick. And tell me when they leave their rooms as well."
"Yes, Your Majesty." The guard says, bowing and leaving.
Touya sighs again. He walks over to his bed and sits down.
The door opens again, and Keigo walks in, a mask on his face. "Touya, are you alright?" He asks, obviously concerned.
Touya nods, and letting Keigo sit next to him.
"You look really tired." Keigo says. "Can you please go to sleep right now?"
Touya looks at him and scowls. "I don't have time to sleep." He says.
Keigo raises his eyebrows. "If memory serves me right, everything you had to do tomorrow were meetings." He says. "And the guards just told me you cancelled those meetings earlier, you have plenty of time to sleep."
Sighing, Touya rubs his face, a gesture he did subconsciously because he was tired.
Keigo wraps his arms around Touya, pulling his into a hug. "Please, Touya, I hate seeing you look so miserable." He whispers, stroking Touya's hair. "You'll feel way better if you get some rest."
Touya says something, but it was lost in the mask and against Keigo's shoulder. He relaxes and dozes off, breathing out a tired sigh of relief. Keigo also sighs, and continues to hug Touya close to his chest.
...
It was the morning birds that woke Touya up the next morning. His eyes open groggily, taking in the morning light from the windows.
Keigo was sitting up in the bed, back against the wooden bed frame, reading a book. Touya raised his head, which makes Keigo look at him.
"How did you sleep?" Keigo says, smiling. "You slept for a long time."
Touya rubbed his eyes. "Fine, I guess." He mutters, sitting up. "What time is it?"
Keigo looks out the window. "Around 10:00 am." He says.
Touya bolts up. "I have to go and work-!" He falls off the bed. "Keigo, why didn't you wake me up?"
His boyfriend giggles. "Do you not remember?" He says, his lighthearted tone fading away slightly. "The disease thing. You have the day off."
Touya sighs, annoyed. He stands up and dusts his shirt and pants off. "Right." He says. "Did the guards bring back Shouto?"
Keigo nods. "Yeah, he came back last night." The blonde says. "Everyone is in their rooms right now, don't worry."
Touya walks over to his dresser and starts to undress to dress for the new day. Keigo doesn't even blink as they continue talking. "The scientists also reported they think the disease is from an animal, but are not sure what kind." He says.
An exasperated sigh comes from Touya. "I hate how long this is taking." He says, pulling a plain white long sleeve shirt over his neck.
"We have to be patient." Keigo says. "It's not like they'll be able to make a cure in less than 24 hours."
Touya finishes dressing, black pants to contrast the white shirt, and looks back at Keigo. "I'm just worried." He says.
Keigo slips off the bed, leaving his book behind. He walks over to Touya and takes his hands.
"We'll figure this out, okay?" He says, smiling. "Everything will be fine."
Touya sighs and rubs his fingers together. "We should go check with the doctors and stuff." He says, obviously not happy about it. "And I need to make a royal address."
Keigo gave Touya a quick kiss on the lips. "Don't pressure yourself." he says, raising an eyebrow.
The king just sighs and the two leave the room.
After a long bit of walking, the two enter the meeting hall. It was empty, so it served as a good place to work. Touya immediately directed the three guards, who had followed them, to set up his work space at the head of the table. Stacks and stacks of work papers were set down, with more coming in.
Touya sat down and started reading and writing, occasionally stamping with ink.
Keigo sat down next to him, watching Touya do his thing. Then a servant came in, bowing repeated as protocol says to. "Your Majesty, Lord Takami." He says. Something about being called lord always made Keigo's face twitch, but he ignored it. "Her Highness is asking about breakfast."
Touya sighs, pausing from writing. "Have someone bring my siblings breakfast. Two breakfasts for both Natsuo and Shouto's room." He adds, taking Izuku and Tenko into account. "Tell Fuyumi we can't have breakfast all together until we all are sure none of us are sick." He says.
The servants nods and leaves.
Keigo frowns at Touya as the young king continues writing.
