You have been working ever since you could find a job. hoping to collect enough money to hopefully buy something nice. i mean yeah you did have nice clothes, shoes, etc. but you liked to pay for things that you wanted, not necessarily needed. the first thing on your list was to buy concert tickets to see those celebrities you had your eyes on. you saved penny after penny, month after month, to pay for scalped concert tickets which were nearly triple in price of what they usually were. you worked long hours, shift after shift trying endlessly to try and raise enough money to go. not only did you have to pay for the ticket, you also had to pay for transportation, a hotel because the venue was far away, food, clothes, and anything else you would need. it wasn't going to be easy, but you had enough time so that you could hopefully pull it off.

It was an another endless day at work. once again stuck behind the counter of a nearby coffee shop, serving grumpy, good-for-nothing customers who didn't give a damn about anything or anyone else. you were clearing a few tables and returning a few dished at the end of your shift, preparing to leave. you got out your jacket and slung it over your shoulder, you hung up your apron and were about to walk out when your boss stopped you. he handed you a sealed envelope, you knew what was inside and a smile grew on your face. you knew inside was the final check which had the last remaining dollars that you needed for your trip to see the boys of your dreams.

you raced home, holding the check in your hands. you burst through your front door causing your dad to look up from this mornings news paper.

Y:"uhh dad your home early?"

D:"yeah i got off early and figured i'd come see you, whatcha got there?"

Y:"just a check from work"

D:"oh alright, make sure to put that in the bank"

Y:"will do dad"

with that you ran to your room and pulled out all of your previous checks, you held all the little slips of paper in your hand admiring how much hard work had gone into this. you quickly changed out of your work clothes, grabbed your purse and headed out the door straight to the bank, "dad I'm going to the bank, be back later" you heard him yell something back to you, but you were out the door so quickly, you didn't even get a chance to understand it.

you got to the bank and eagerly waited in line. you had butterflies in your stomach even thinking about what was going to happen in the next month. you cashed all your checks, keeping some pocket money and putting the rest into your checking account so you could use your card to pay off everything else.

you walked out of the bank and over to the park to meet your best friend. she was the only one that knew the real you. she understood what happened to you and was there through it all. she listened to your problems and helped you whenever you needed something. she was the best friend anyone could ever ask for. you saw here sitting on the park bench reading the second book in the hunger games trilogy. you sat down next to her, and made some small talk. after a you told here you needed held distracting your problem, she agreed to help with a little bit of convincing.
