Cody's pov

After putting things away, I stare at the wall, unsure what I want to do to spare the time. I find my room boring. I just sit on the windowsill, staring at the view. We have dinner in 2 hours. I have jet lag from the long flight. I change into my pajamas. I go to bed. I lay down and put a blanket over me. I doze off into deep sleep.

Knock, knock, knock

I wake up, groaning as I get out of bed. Who is it this time? I open the door. It's Micheal. "Dude, it's time for dinner," he says, rolling his eyes. I could tell that he is getting fed up with my laziness.

"What? I didn't know the dinner starts now!" I said, freaking out.

"I send you a text. Did you see my text?"

"I uh I didn't see the text. I was sleeping. I was having jet lag from the flight, Micheal. I don't feel like going to dinner,"

"Why?" he asks with his eyebrow raised in suspicion. He could tell something is up with me. Well, I was telling the half-truth about me having jet lag. Another reason is I don't want to get humiliated by Jeremy.

"Is it because of Jeremy?" Micheal asks. "Come on, I will protect you from that douche. Get dressed,"

"Ok, Mr. bossy pants," I said, rolling my eyes. I close the door. I have to take his word for it. I relent and walk to my closet to get my clothes. I put on a red shirt and blue pants. I put on my sneakers and open the door.

"Are you ready, Mr. Lazy Boy?" Micheal asks. He crossed his arms, looking at me impatiently. I nod my head. We head to the elevator. I press the ground floor. The elevator starts going down.

"Do you have a roommate?" I asked.

"I don't have a roommate. I wish I could. But I realized it's ok to be managing to live in Hotel or other places by myself. I don't care about having a roommate. What about you? Do you have a roommate?" he asked.

"I don't have a roommate," I mutter. "I'm fine with it," The elevator door opens. We both walk out. I walk towards the dining room. A bunch of people are there. Me and Micheal walk to the teens. They look at us.

"Can I sit here?" I asked.

"Sure," the boy to my right says. I sit down next to him. "I'm Toby," he said.

"I'm Cody," I said. We shake hands. "You must be American?" He asked.

"Yes," I said.

"Had a good flight?" Toby asked.

"I wouldn't say I had a good flight. I had neutral flight..."

"Did someone ruin your flight?" He asked me. I want to tell him about Jeremy. But I decide not to.

"Well, no, I have jet lag from the light. That's all," I lie.

"Eh? ok," they went back eating and talking. Toby has a British accent. I'm not sure if anyone noticed that. We spend the rest of the time, eating and talking. I stand up and walk out of the dining hall.

I try to look for the restroom. As I look for the restroom, I get pushed. I turn to look around to see Jeremy. "Oh, it's you..."

"hey, freak," he says as he punches me. "I saw you flirting with my girlfriend on the plane. I told you to stay away from her,"

"I didn't flirt with Dakota. She was trying to say sorry for your bad behavior earlier. We didn't flirt and I think you should say sorry to me," I retort.

"Sorry isn't in my dictionary," Jeremy said. "I told you that I'll make your life hell," I have a fearful look in my eyes.

"Hey!" someone says. We both look at the boy and Toby. "How about you pick someone your own size?" They walk up to us. Jeremy lets me go. I fall on the floor. I watch as the drama unfolds.

"What are you going to do about it?" Jeremy asked with a mocking tone.

"Me and Ben will beat you up," Toby said. Toby punches Jeremy. He lets out a scream as if he is screaming like a girl. I let out a chuckle. "Don't you hit someone, or we will make your life hell. You have no idea what are you dealing with?"

"Who do you work for?" Jeremy asked. Toby shows him something. I can't see what he is showing Jeremy. But it makes him scared and runs away.

Without thinking, I stand up and yell after Jeremy "RUN LIKE A COWARD!" before letting out a laugh. Wow, it was something. "T-thank you, guys," I said before I stand up.

"God, that guy needs to have manners," Ben remarks. "Are you ok?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I said as I walk away. I finally find Micheal. He begins to ask me so many questions.

"What happened? why Jeremy was scared?" he asked. "He looked as if he saw a ghost," he looked confused.

"He got beaten up by Toby and his friend. You know his friend's name is Ben?" I said. "They saw him beating me up. They intervened and they put Jeremy in his place. To be honest, it serves him right," We walk for the elevator door to open.

"I have a feeling that they are hiding something," I said. We walk back to our separate rooms. Micheal closes the door, leaving me alone in an empty and silent hallway. I sighed and walked back to my room. I close it. I take a towel and clothes with me in the bathroom. I take a shower.

After 20 minutes of showering, I grab a towel and wrap it around my body. I dry my messy black hair. I take my clothes and put them on. I sit down in bed and turn the tv on.

"What's on the tv?" I mutter to myself. I settle on watching Scream. I watched it before with my family. During the middle of the movie, I get jumpscare. It's just a movie, Cody I tell myself.

I turn the tv off. I put the remote on the bedside table. I look at my phone to see and it's almost midnight. I stand up and close the curtains. I walk back to my bed and fall asleep.
