Cody's pov

The rest of the car ride was quiet. We didn't even say a word. As I am about to say a word, Ben starts to talk. "Did you even have an idea how much being an agent means to me? I can't believe that I got fired. It's all because of you, Cody,"

Here we go again. Another lecture from Ben. "I worked so hard to be an agent. All I wanted to do is keep my country safe. I wish I hadn't rescued you in the first place. Maybe Jack is right. You don't have your father's blood. Maybe you are the failure,"

Those words hit my chest with pain. I can't believe that he said that. "You didn't believe in me?" I asked.

"I did. But as I got to know you that you don't have David's blood. I backed you up. What it got me? I got fired!" Ben yells. I clench my fists. I can't believe that Ben thinks that I'm a failure. Maybe he is right. I'm an utter failure. All of my life, I mess things up. That's who I am. Maybe it was the wrong place for me to be stuck in London.

"That's what you think of me," I say as the car starts to come to the hotel. I open the door and take my luggage. I slam the door before glaring at Ben and walking inside. I check in at the hotel. I go to the room. I put my luggage on the couch. I lay down as thoughts begin to get in my mind.

Am I destined to be a failure? I'm not proving to anyone that I am a smart young person. I just want people to be proud of me. I wish that I hadn't even gone the London. I wish I hadn't met Ben. Why Dad had to leave me? Tears start to come out of my eyes.

Why Ben didn't even comfort me? Does he really think that I'm not born to be an agent? All I want to do is go home. Maybe my gut is wrong. I wish I hadn't got myself into this situation. I wish Dad was alive to finish this mission. But why he deserted his mission? He could've stayed behind and finished his mission.

I should've gone home and be with my family and Micheal. Speaking of Micheal, I was mad at him for deserting me. Well, I don't blame him.

Flashback starts to play in my head. On the day of the accident. I remember every bit of it.

When I was in the car with Dad, we were going to go fishing. But until the car hit us. My dad is dead. No matter how I try to shake him. But he is not waking up.

Police and ambulance were on the scene. Dad's body was being taken to the hospital. I ended up passing out. I wake up in the hospital room, surrounded by my mom and my brothers. "Mom..." I groan as I try to get up.

"Cody? Are you ok?" Mom asks.

"I'm fine. Where is Dad?" I asked. Mom and Tyler, my older brother look at each other. I could tell something bad had happened. "Mom, tell me!" my voice cracks. Mom begins to sob.

"H-he is g-gone," Mom says. No, it can't be. Dad is not dead.

"You are joking right?" I look into Mom's eyes. I knew from that moment on, my dad is gone. I cried. But Tyler holds me to comfort me.

From that day on, I never chose to talk about my feelings about my dad or the accident. It traumatized me. But I knew that I had to get to my feet and move on. They did try to cheer me up even Micheal. He was there at my dad's funeral. I needed a friend to support me. The reason I came to London is to get my mind off the accident. But I end up here, doing something that Dad was supposed to do.

I ended up, falling asleep as my thoughts fade away. The next morning, I woke up. I'm still in my formal suit. I better change. I walk over to my luggage and take out my clothes. I walk to the bathroom and shower. I wrap the towel around my body and walk out. I immediately put on my clothes.

I walk out of the room and walk to the dining room. I take the plate. I take toast and beacon on my plate. I sit at the table and start eating. As I eat, the tv plays. I look at it. It's a news broadcast. CNN.

"We heard this morning the king has abdicated in favor of Louis De Galle. His coronation will be this Friday in Westminster Abbey," the tv says. My eyes widen in terror. What? Louis took over the throne. I knew his plan came to fruition. I bet Amelia is helping him. That bitch.

I walk out of the dining room. I start walking back to my room. It can't be. I open the door to see Amelia. "Hey Cody," Amelia said. I grab something to defend myself.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" I asked.

"I come in peace-" I cut her off.

"You worked with that monster. Not to mention that he got Ben fired. How did you know that I was here?"

"Cody, I may be Louis' niece. I realized how power-hungry he was for power. I deserted him. I realized that the fate of this country is at stake. We have to stop my uncle. You don't know what he is going to do with the secret files," Amelia says.

"What's he going to do with them?" I asked.

"He is going to expose the files. He might even burn it," she said.

"So that's the reason you came to see me?" I asked. Amelia looks down.

"Yes, we have to finish this mission that your dad didn't complete. So what's your answer, Cody? Will you help me to finish your dad's mission?"
