Fatal Impact

Chapter eleven

A week later

Me, Amelia, and Ben walk to the palace. Wow, it's so big. We are being accompanied by other agents. "Cody Grover, the king wants to speak with you," a man in his 50s says. I stare at Ben and Amelia. They tilt their heads, gesturing for me to go. I follow him.

I see portraits of past monarchs as I walk past them. "This way," he opens the door. King is in his office.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Cody Grover," King says.

"It's all mine. Even though, I don't know how to act formally in the presence of the king," I say.

"We appreciate what you did back in the coronation. You saved the monarchy and England. Is there we can do something for you?"

"Well," I stare at the sword. King immediately understands. I decided to be a knight. "Is it ok if I could be a knight?"

"Very well. Your father must be proud of you," King remarks. I nod my head. I already had my suit on. "We are going to start the ceremony now," he grabs the sword. We both walk out. King goes to the throne room. Everyone goes inside. 

I enter the room. Amelia and Ben smile proudly at me. I wish Mom and my brothers were here to see it. I bet they saw a confrontation on the tv. I bend down. King takes out a sword and lightly strikes both of my shoulders. "I hereby make you knight," 

With those words, they clap and cheer. I stand up and wave at Ben and Amelia who wave back at me. King also puts the medal on me. I walk out of the room. It's something that Dad couldn't do. It's time for me to go home. I can't wait to see my family and friends again. 

I walk back to the hotel. I start packing up my luggage. The news is on the tv. I start to listen. 

"Today, Cody Hunter Grover was knighted in Palace by the King. Cody is the son of the late famous agent David Grover. He stopped the coronation. Louis De Galle is facing higher charges which could sentence him a death sentence," news says. I turn the tv off. I walk out of the hotel. 

I get in the cab. My thoughts come up in my head. Will they be happy to see me? I'm sure Mom will scold me for worrying her to death. Well, I'm coming home to Mom, my brothers, and Micheal. I got to talk to Micheal. I arrive at the airport.

"Hey, Cod," Ben says as he hugs me. I hug him back.

"Hey, man," I said. We break from the hug. "Hey, Amelia," I hug her. She hugs me back. Tears start to come from my eyes.

"Hello, Sir Cody Grover," Amelia says in a funny tone. 

"Just call me Cody," I smile. "Well, I got to go. See you guys," I wave at them. I begin to walk inside. But just then, I heard Amelia call my name.

"Cody, wait," she calls out as she runs up to me. Our foreheads touch. "I will miss you," my hand goes through her hair. 

"I will miss you too, Ames," I whisper. She is crying. She did something that I wasn't expecting. She leans in and kisses me. I'm shocked. I melt into the kiss. We kiss each other. All it matters is us. We break away. 

"Will I see you again?" Amelia asks. 

"You will," I assure her. I walk away from her until I wasn't able to see them. I board the plane. I put the luggage in a compartment. I buckle up. I lean against the seat. The plane begins to fly away. I look at the view. Goodbye, Amelia. 

It takes 5 hours to go home. By the time, I fall asleep. Sunlight wakes me up. Looks like we are here. I take my luggage out. I walk out as the flight attendant says 'Welcome to America'. More like a welcome home. 

I start walking to the exit. I see my family and Micheal. They are holding balloons and welcome home sign. 

Mom sees me and runs up to me. "Oh, Cody, I missed you so much," she cries in my arms. I hug her back. "You worried me to death," I break away. Tyler and Christian hug me. It was a tight hug.

"We missed you," Christian said. 

"We are proud of you," Tyler said. I couldn't breathe. 

"C-can you let me go?" I asked. "Cause I can't breathe," 

They let go of me. I hug Owen and Henry as well. This time, it wasn't a tight hug. "I must admit that you are just like Dad," Henry said. Owen nods in agreement. 

"I'm a knight," I say. I turn to look at Micheal. I walk up to him. 

"I-I'm sorry I d-didn't tell you that w-we were leaving. You must hate-" I cut Micheal off mid-sentence by hugging him. 

"I missed you, man. I forgive you. We are good," I said as a smile crept on my face. I break away from the hug. "Going to London helped me heal. Thank you, Micheal, for making me go with you," 

We walk out of the airport. We go in the car. We start driving back to my house. Eventually, we got home. I quickly run to my room. I throw my luggage on the floor. I throw myself in the bed. Home sweet home. I sigh with satisfaction. 

I open my luggage and put my clothes away. I take pictures of Ben and Amelia. I place them on the desk. I miss you already. Dad will be proud of me. Now that I'm a British-American agent. it's only a matter of time before the next mission will come and my next adventure will begin.
