Tiffany's POV
I am running around finding my favorite spots to photograph for tonight while Harry does his sound check. He's so serious about his work and yet he's so silly in between songs messing around, and cracking jokes; I love how he interacts with his band, his friends...me.
He is constantly glancing over at me, giving me a thumbs up to check-in. This all feels so natural. I have never done concert photography before, at least not professionally but I am excited and everything seems to be running smoothly for me.
I try the location under the seats and I am really loving the framing and view from the stage. I know it might seem crazy now but I cannot wait to see how it turns out during the actual show.
It's been about an hour now and they are wrapping up some technical things. That's when I heard my CGM alert me that I was low. Must have been from all the moving around. It's nothing dangerous yet so I grab some fruit snacks from my bag and sit down on the floor against the wall to take care of it. I had barely gotten them open when I noticed Harry running over to me.
"Tiffany? You alright?" He kneels down in front of me.
"Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to distract you, I am good, promise," I say holding up my fruit snacks.
"Aren't your sugars low?" He asks confused.
"Well, a little, I got the like 'warning' alarm. So to prevent it from getting dangerous or serious I am eating my handy dandy fruit snacks" I say trying to explain while also lightening the mood. I can tell he's feeling concerned.
"Oh okay, so you're not worried?" He now sits down in front of me waiting for me to explain a bit more about how this works.
"No not at all, not right now anyways. My CGM alerted me that I am leaving the normal range and starting to go low, but I am still a ways away from being in the 'danger zone' so these fruit snacks will bring my levels back into the normal range and I should be good" I smile at him to reassure him that all is good and it is not like it was the first night.
"This warning alarm is one of the alarms that I didn't notice or realize went off that night I passed out, but most of the time I do catch them and it prevents a situation like the other night, from happening""Oh, okay wow. I guess I still have lots to learn" He says looking at me as if he wants to know more.
"Even I don't know everything yet, so it's okay you don't have to understand it all," I say as I don't expect him to memorize everything about Type 1 Diabetes after only 3 days of knowing me.
"I want to, teach me." He puts his head in his hands like he's ready to listen.
"Another time Styles, you've got a sound check to finish. I'm okay, you go." I say shewing him away.
"Pinky promise?" he holds out his pinky to me.
"Pinky promise." I lock it in.
It is so strange for me to have someone care this much about learning how everything works. It is even more strange to me as it's from someone who has a very busy life and has just practically met me. It's sweet he cares so much. It makes me feel loved and important; like I matter.
I decided to just rest and watch him finish the sound check. I love seeing how everything works and all the decisions. It was near what I thought was the end as they just finished sound-checking Kiwi when I heard Harry whispering something to his band and crew. Must be his surprise.
"Tiffany?" I hear Sarah call my name. I walk over to her side of the stage.
"Would you do us a huge favor and grab some water from the fridge in Harry's dressing room? Three should be good."
"Of course! Anything else?" I ask but she shakes her head no so I take off to the backstage area and make my way down the hall. I feel a little bit strange being back here alone. I don't feel like I should be here but Sarah asked for water so I have a right to be back here. I have to remind myself of that.
I slowly open his dressing room door and go straight to the fridge. I really want to snoop around to try and find his outfit for tonight but I wouldn't even know where to begin looking. It certainly isn't in plain sight. I have 3 waters in my hands when I spot one of the flowers from the bouquet that I had given him, taped to his dressing room mirror. I pause for a moment to look at it. I wonder why it's there. I assume he took the rest of the flowers to his "home" here in LA somewhere. I can't stand here and stare at it to figure it out so I hurry back to give them their water.
When I came back in I noticed them whispering again. I definitely am now feeling like there was a reason they asked me to leave. I feel a little uneasy about that but it is his band. There could be private matters that I am not supposed to know about. I try and brush the feelings I have about it aside. It is not like anyone here owes me an explanation anyway, and it could just be about whatever the surprise is. Besides, I am just the photographer.
"Thank you, Tiffany!" Sarah says as she grabs the 3 waters and keeps one for herself and hands the other two to Mitch and Pauli. They thank me as well and I go finalize my setup for tonight, making sure I have everything I want in the proper locations for the best images I can try and capture.
Harry comes back over to me and looks over my shoulder. I did not hear him at first. He startles me.
