Harry's POV

Everything has been going so great during this sound check. I love glancing over and watching Tiff do her thing. I wonder if this is how she feels watching me. I suddenly notice she is sitting down and a wave of concern washes over me. I excuse myself and run over to check on her.

She explained to me that it was nothing serious and that it wasn't the same severity as the other night. I sigh of relief knowing she is and will be okay. I really want to better understand everything about type 1 diabetes. She makes it seem like no big deal, and yet it seems so complicated and new not only to me but to her, it has only been a few months and from everything Becca had told me, it hasn't been some simple walk in the park for her. I am sure no diagnosis is.

Tiffany reminds me I have a sound check to get back to so I make her promise to tell me about it all later.

"Pinky promise?" I hold out my pinky to her.

She smiles and locks hers with mine. "Promise"

I head back up onto the stage to finish up and I really need to sound check Medicine. I know the fans will be pleased about this choice but I am doing it more for Tiffany. I don't know if this is the last time she will be here for my performance but I want to give her everything. I am able to get Sarah to find a diversion to get her to leave for just a moment so we can, as quietly as possible, sound-check the song.

We only did part of it but it was perfect timing as we finished before she got back.
"I am really excited about tonight's show guys. I think the crowd is really going to love Medicine" I say as quietly as possible.

"You mean like they always do?" Mitch whispers over to me and we laugh.

"Why isn't it on the set list permanently again?" Sarah asks.

"I like to mix it up, keep the fans on their toes" I shrug my shoulders. I don't really have any other reason other than I feel like it wouldn't be as special or make the fans go as crazy if I always played it.

"And we are keeping this quiet and unknown to Tiffany because...?" Elin asks raising an eyebrow at me.

"She's a fan too, I want her to be just as surprised as everyone else," I say and taper off my sentence as I hear footsteps coming back towards the stage.

I begin to wrap up and grab my things while she hands the water to Sarah. I watch her go over to her setup one last time to make sure everything is good and ready. I walk over and lean over her shoulder to sneak a peak at what she was doing.

"Those look amazing already," I say to her. She jumps and quickly turns around almost knocking over her tripod with the camera attached. I quickly grab the small of her back to hold her up all the while leaning over and around her to keep the camera from falling or tipping any further.

She doesn't pull away, she just stands still catching her balance with both hands on my shoulders. She stares at me and I try to pretend like I am focused on the camera. I know that if I look into those beautiful eyes I will feel the need to kiss her again; more so than I already do.

"I didn't mean to startle you, my bad," I say as I back away now letting go of her. I don't want to.

"Shit, I mean shoot, no it's okay, I don't know how all that even happened honestly" She motions toward her setup.
"Thanks for catching...well...both of us" She slightly laughs and I can tell it was out of nerves. I am finally catching on to her and how to figure out her emotions. At least I think I am. I also noticed her cheeks are a rosy pink. They weren't before.

"Anytime. But seriously those practice shots look awesome. I see what you meant about your vision over there."

"Damn, you weren't supposed to see those yet. I wanted it to be a surprise"

"Ah, I'm sorry" I feel bad now.

"It's okay, I'll just have to make the final product extra special and impressive" she jokes knowing what I will say.

"Like you would settle for anything less?"

We both laugh knowing it's true, she would never settle for less. I might not have known her for long, but I do know and have learned that she takes her work seriously. I admire that, as I do the same.

"Anyways. What now?" she asks looking around noticing everyone had left to their dressing rooms to do their own thing before the show. It is about 4:00 now and the show doesn't start till 8:00 not to mention I don't go on until 9:00.

"Well this is when I would typically have some food delivered and just chill for a bit while I get ready, but um--"

She interrupts me, "Oh don't let me get in the way of that. I can chill out in my car for a bit" She starts to grab her keys before I can say anything else so I reach out and grab her hand to stop her.

"No no, you aren't in the way, I actually wanted to show you something. Follow me."

She seems taken aback by this but does not argue.
"More surprises?" she asks

"Eh, I wouldn't call it a surprise," I say and continue to lead her onto the stage.
"This," I say and open my arms to show her all around me; the empty seats, the empty stage, the peacefulness.

"Wow...it is crazy how different everything looks, so empty and from this perspective. It's quite..."

"Peaceful?"

"Yes! Exactly. Peaceful." She looks around and takes it all in. I just watch. Eyes on her, ignoring everything else.

"Here. Lay down." I say as I lay in the middle of the stage leaving room next to me for her to join.

"Wait why?"

"Just trust me," and that was all it took she laid down next to me and tilted her head in my direction waiting for further instruction or explanation.
"Look up, straight up. Notice anything?"

She does and I wait for a response, hoping she sees it the way I do.
