When the two of them made it back to the palace, they barely had enough time to get out before the man was already heading back towards Angelina's estate in a hurry.
The little tea party was still going on, and Angelina, Loraine, and Sierra continued to laugh.
"How has that girl managed until now?" asked Angelina.
"I know, right?" giggled Sierra. "It's as if she's having to learn etiquette."
Loraine then became silent and thought about it. "But it doesn't make any sense, does it?" she asked. "I mean, didn't His Majesty marry a queen from another country?"
"Huh, where did you hear that from?" Angelina asked her.
"What?" snapped Loraine. "Doesn't everyone know that?"
"No," Angelina replied rudely.
Sierra asked innocently, "Is that true, Loraine?"
Loraine sighed angrily and replied, "Believe it or don't believe it."
The table became silent. After a moment of it, Loraine suddenly said, "Unless . . . those two aren't really royalty or even nobles at all."
"What are you saying?" Sierra asked angrily.
Loraine was about to answer before Angelina called her. Until then, she had been thinking of that very possibility.
"Loraine, you wouldn't be implying that the king would marry a woman from the slums and take her and her daughter into the royal palace, would you? That could be considered an insult that could very well cost you your head."
Loraine suddenly became as white as a ghost and stuttered, "N-no! I was just thinking of reasons as to why our second princess is -"
"Well, it's not like your theory is without justification," replied Angelina. "It is a small possibility, but maybe . . . just maybe." She eyed Kaitlyn as she finished, "The royal family is keeping a secret from everyone concerning the new royals' origins?"
Kaitlyn violently slammed her cup down and glared at the three noble girls. "I think we should end the tea party here for today," she said in a very frightening tone. The three girls became scared of the first princess's demeanor.
"I-I agree," stuttered Angelina.
Kaitlyn stood up and rushed towards the carriage. She viciously bit her nails. She had no idea how that rumor around Harry and her mother even started, but now no one outside the palace could find out about their true origins. If they did the royal family's dignity would be tarnished, or something worse could happen.
When she made it closer to the carriage, she saw a guilty-plagued man. She was so angry that she hadn't planned to ask him anything, but the moment she was face to face with him, he told her everything that had happened with Harry and Varian.
"What did you say?" she asked angrily. "Did you just say that . . . that . . . that girl took one of my carriages and rode in it with that servant boy?"
The man stuttered, "Well, I wouldn't call him a servant boy . . . no, he's the-"
"What-did-you-just-say?"
He froze. "Uh . . . I . . . uh, meant . . ." She glared at him, making him even more nervous. "What I meant was . . . it was-"
He suddenly broke down and cried, "Your Highness is right; please forgive me! I-I've made a mistake! Please, Princess, forgive this worthless old man!"
"Whatever," Kaitlyn replied, stepping into the carriage. "Just take me back to the palace and hurry."
"Bless you, Princess!" he cried joyfully as he shut her door and jumped back on the coach. He had tears in his eyes, perhaps because he was relieved that he was forgiven, or because he was so terrified of the punishments that could have befallen him.
Kaitlyn sat in the carriage gnawing on her nails. "I told her not to embarrass me!" she shouted. "Hurry! Hurry to the palace, you worthless coachman! Hurry so I can deliver my punishment to her!"
The man did as she said and made the carriage go even faster. She ended up arriving way quicker than Harry and Varian had. As soon as she got out of the carriage, she ran straight to the crown prince's study. She had an evil look on her face as she stood outside his door. She swung it open and cried, "Kahil!"
He was sitting at his desk reviewing and writing on some documents. When he saw Kaitlyn, he immediately put his pen down. "Kaitlyn," he replied.
"Kahil!" she whined as she ran over to hug him. "Kaitlyn, what's wrong?" he asked as he sent out his two guards.
"It's that girl," she answered in tears. "Harry, I tried to be nice to her, but she . . . she was so mean to me! She thinks she's better than me just because she's a new princess!" She squeezed him and wailed, "Please, Kahil, you're my brother! The only person I can rely on!"
Kahil was now angry after having heard such news. "We can't have that now," he replied. "Don't worry, Kaitlyn; I'll teach her a lesson that she won't soon forget."
Kaitlyn sniffled and replied, "Thank you!" She hid her face in her brother's shirt. If he had been able to see her face, then he would have seen a very wicked smile plastered across her face.
