Many months had passed since the hectic tea party incident, and spring had finally arrived in the kingdom. Harry decided to take a stroll on such a lovely day.
"Wait up, Princess!" shouted Cambrel.
She turned around and smiled. "Ah, Sir Cambrel!"
Harry was now used to the royal lifestyle; she was more comfortable with the servants and knights. She even started wearing more extravagant outfits.
"It's such a nice day today, isn't it?" she asked.
"Yes," Cambrel replied.
The two walked together until Harry squatted down to smell the flowers.
"I do hope I'm not taking too much of your time, Sir Cambrel," she said worriedly.
"No, not at all," he answered. "It's part of my job, after all."
It had been a while since he had escorted her. She was usually with Varian, but he had to train for the day, so it allowed Cambrel to see her again.
"You didn't have to miss training, right?" she asked.
"Nope."
He had the day off, so it worked out.
"Then, Sir Cambrel," replied Harry. "Shall we visit the training grounds?"
She picked a chrysanthemum and held it to her nose. "Truthfully, I've been wanting to go there for a while now," she said softly.
"We can go there if you want," he replied, although he had his suspicions.
"In that case," Harry said. "Please wait here for a moment."
"Princess?" he called confused.
She hurried off shouting, "I'll be right back!"
She came back as quickly as she could tugging a large brown basket with her. "Princess!" Cambrel gasped. "Here, let me help you with that." He reached for it, but she quickly pulled it away. "It's fine," she replied. "I want to carry it." Although she had gotten used to her life as a princess, she was still polite and liked to be independent when she was able to.
All the knights were training vigorously at the grounds. Their sweat made their skin shine under the hot sun.
"I knew it," Harry muttered. "It's so warm outside, and yet they're training so earnestly."
She turned to Cambrel and asked, "They deserve a reward, no?" He was going to answer negatively, but after looking at them for a moment, he agreed.
Harry wondered if she should interrupt them. She was worried that if she waited too long, her gifts would melt. Luckily, Marcus noticed her. "Princess Harry," he called as he ran up to her.
After hearing Marcus shout, all the other knights stopped and headed in her direction.
"Ah, yes, hello," she awkwardly greeted. She became embarrassed with all of the eyes on her. She was even more embarrassed when they started to talk about her.
"The princess, seriously?!"
"No way!"
"What is she doing here?"
"Move, let me see her!"
Marcus took notice of her basket and asked, "Princess, what's in your basket?"
Harry looked down at it and replied, "Um . . I wanted to do something nice for all of you . . . since . . . you all work so hard every day. Please help yourselves."
In her basket were wrapped-up chocolate balls, but the inside of them was cold vanilla ice cream.
"The chef and I made them yesterday, wrapped them up, and let them sit in a cool environment overnight." She looked around to see their expressions. "Are they good?" she asked nervously.
"Yes!" they all shouted.
"Ah, it's so cold!" spoke the knight named Laura.
"It's very good," answered Ivan.
"Yes, perfect," Marcus complimented. "Especially on a hot day like this!"
Everyone was eating them, well, everyone except for Varian. Harry noticed this and carried her basket over to him.
"Varian, won't you try one?" she asked him politely.
"No," he answered indifferently. "I don't want that."
Harry frowned at him as he continued, "Such a day like this doesn't require-"
"Shut up!" Marcus shouted as he shoved the candy in Varian's mouth.
Harry watched him eat it and excitedly awaited his response.
He turned to her and replied, "It's okay, I guess."
Nonetheless, Harry still smiled and said, "I'm glad it was okay."
She looked down in the basket; more than half of her candies were already gone. "Eating something cold after working hard is the best, isn't it?" she asked Varian.
As usual, he didn't answer her; instead, he wiped the sweat off his forehead and wondered why he felt even hotter than he did before Harry gave him the cold candy.
