Where we departed, the two had explored a new part of their home, restoring Pleajeune to its former beauty all while uncovering the mystery of a missing person, who in retrospective, was faced with the overwhelming feelings she built up inside, and kept concealed as a rejected student of Hekseville's top-class academy, Arquebus Academy. However, this was all but a mere job for the two to complete, as the both of them had gotten stronger; Raiko exploring the versatility of his powers even further and becoming more self-dependant, and Kat becoming more emotionally strong, understanding what letting go of something truly is, even if it is one of the things she wanted more than anything; To fit in, as a normal teenager in Hekseville.

And after all, had been said and done, they called it a night, heading back through the tunnels to reach their home. However, there was only one thing that brought conflict between the two.

================

"HYAH!"

Raiko and Kat, now in the washroom of their home, clashed after the former' dodged a roundhouse kick thrown by the latter. "...Hrngggg...!" Kat pushed against their clash as much as she could, but Raiko gradually took the upper hand against her despite her efforts. She had to act fast.

And that she did, pushing upward on the clash and sending him stumbling back for a moment. Such an opportunity was but a mere needle to a thread, as she wasted no time in attacking him once again, forcing Raiko to sway and block all that flew in his direction.

The difficulties of being off balance and defending against an opponent were too common amongst fighters, whether professional or self-taught, and Raiko proved no different, being faced with a well-placed kick that he could only narrowly miss.

The fight seemingly slowed for a moment, likely due to the adrenaline rush the two received in their bout and how suddenly the momentum had shifted through the course of it. In its brief moderation, Kat saw the graze on his cheek from the blow, momentarily worried about the wound she inflicted, but now in full gear. She had to be more aggressive to win!

Throwing another roundhouse kick, she shifted her body to land on the attacking foot, spinning to preserve her momentum and unsuccessfully feint him into an upper defense, until using her other leg to sweep his legs from below him. However, her attack would be easily evaded, drawing his attention to a weakness Raiko hadn't seen before.

During her flurry of attacks, Kat had forced herself to hasten in her offense as to meet the male's ability to evade at a rate that would outweigh hers by a landslide, and by doing so, she didn't take into consideration the amount of conditioning it would take to fight at her speed, which could only go as fast as her body would let her.

A perfect opening for him, to say the least.

In her midst of throwing a front kick, Raiko checked it with a flashy return, anticipating and countering all winded attacks she could throw at him before he managed to close the distance and place her in a judo hold: 'Kata Gatame'.

"W-Wha—?" Kat seemed shocked, unable to comprehend such a shift in response to her blows. And to make matters worse, she couldn't break out of the hold, nor attack in retaliation to such an unknown restriction.

It was there that Raiko made his intents more apparent, stepping into the side of her frame before hooking his leg behind her own, and jolting the shifter forward, tripping her in quick succession.

Unable to shift nor realign her balance due to Dusty not being there, the two were sent crashing to the ground. Normally, the person that was slammed would hit their head pretty badly, but Raiko made sure she wouldn't have to endure such, holding her head with his arm as both crashed onto the ground, before pinning her with his forearm directly on her chest.
