A/N: Man, I took WAY too long with this, but hear me out-

I ended up having two birthdays before even coming up with an idea to make this different than the story itself, and even then I still had no clue what to do until getting the urge to write again and eventually came up with a few ideas. I suppose I needed a break from writing and even more so with Wattpad with everything that's going on outside of it.

But you didn't come here to read me ramble about outside stuff, right? let's get to it!

Where we left off, the two had finished off filling their home with bedding, as well as other things they could find. In the midst of such, Raiko was feeling hopeless, feeling as if he could not recover anything regarding his memories of the period.

But whilst alone, he achieved a new resolve: To not dwell in the loss of his past's recollection but to live in what he can make of tomorrow.

Dark skies grew after their hard work, so they decided to sleep the night away, waking rather early to fix up the rest of Auldnoir, as well as receive new information as to the essentials of Hekseville. Mingling with many of the civilians and even officers, they were able to find out that the creatures that were named Nevi amongst the city folk had never been here in the beginning, and that things that fall into the abyss never return.

In time, they ran across Syd once again, who was speaking on a walkie-talkie.

"Mm-hmm? Right. I see." Syd nodded, the walkie exerting someone's orders. During such, Raiko and Kat landed rather quietly, optimistically walking towards Syd.

"Syd!" Kat slaps the back of Syd, causing him to fumble his walkie. Raiko catches the walkie before it falls off of the edge, handing it over.

"Thanks, that would've been rough if I dropped it over the edge." Syd sighs in relief, stuffing the walkie in his new coat.

"Right. Anyways, what's up with the outfit?" Raiko questions.

"Huh? Oh, this? Pretty sharp, eh? You're looking at the newest member of the Seahorse Special Task Force. I made detective!" Syd grins, giving the two a dorky solute amid his prideful moment.

"Oh yeah? Is that a good thing?" Kat asks, folding her arms.

"Not good, great! I got a promotion!" Syd stated.

Raising a brow, Raiko cups his chin in curiosity. "Hm... What'd you get promoted for?" He asks, taking a look at Syd's new outfit.

"O-Oh, just some light work. . .Dealing with a couple of Outlaws, and handling a few cases." Syd says, looking away as sweat comically drops from his cheek.

". . .Huh." The two simply look at him, as he clears his throat to divert their attention.

"Anyways! Not that you two should know, but. . .I'm on a job. And once again, your timing is impeccable, since this could boost my career!" Syd says, with Raiko facepalming.

"Syd, WE could boost your career, since we're the reason why you received the promotion," Raiko stated, with Kat glaring in slight anger.

"True, yes, but still! I need your help, both of you!" Syd pleas.

Kat starts to imitate a thinking demeanor, attempting to ruin his hopes. "So we do all the work, while you get all the promotions?" She asks, getting a nod from Syd.

"Huh, sounds like a pretty sweet deal, since this idiot does need our help. . ." Raiko continues, causing Syd to jolt.

"I-idiot?!"
