You read each page out loud, your book resting on Konig's back. He laid on your chest while you read, leaning back against your headboard. You were reading poetry, one of König's favorite kinds of literature. You added a few of your own lines into some of it, hoping he wouldn't notice you were talking about him.
"Never do I need a million reasons to love you..For all I need is you."
König shifted a bit, looking up at you with half lidded eyes.
"What part are you on? That's cute."
He mumbled, his voice groggy and soft.
"Hush, there are more poems."
You weren't lying, you had so many more you could say to him while he listened to you. He was your everything, of course you could go on but you would save that for later. You continued to read the book to him, your words soft like cotton, laced with all the love you could fit into them.

You coughed up the dirt that got into your mouth, pulling yourself back onto your feet and kept up the pace with the rest of your group. They were running too fast for you to even keep up with them.
"Keep up (Y/N)! Hurry!"
You didn't dare look behind you, you knew they were behind you so no matter what you didn't look back. The weakest get killed off first.
You pushed yourself to run faster, you didn't want to be the one to get caught...or even worse.
The sounds of vehicles just on the edge of the forest got your heart racing even faster than it was already.
Tears brimmed at the edges of your eyes, getting caught and being a prisoner...it's was what you were afraid of.
You could see people getting off of the backs of trucks ahead of you, there was no way you were going to go straight anymore. Only someone with a death wish would do that knowing what was ahead.
You made a sharp turn and ran deeper into the forest, it might not have been the best idea because who knows where it would lead you. How would you even get out after this? Extraction wasn't your main priority right now, surviving was on top.

You ran till you couldn't run anymore, dropping down to the mossy forest floor, you crawled beside a bush for better cover. You had to get your energy back, as much as you could. You knew losing the weight from you backpack would help your run faster. You dumped out your bag, picking out only the first-aid and your water. You didn't have any food due to this mission being an in and out.
You stood up and gave the pile of discarded items, your leather notebook catching your eye. You quickly grabbed it in a panic. You couldn't leave that behind, it held the poems you wrote for your fiancé, who was probably at home right now...waiting on your arrival.
You sat back down and picked up your pen, opening to a new page, you looked up at the sky. Space the only thing on your mind right now.
As the thoughts came to your mind, letters began forming on the page.
You will always be the one my heart searches for...though the pages of my words, they all lead back to my home...you. My dear, Konig.

"What do you mean she's missing! You're her commander, how do you not know where one of your soldiers are!"
"Calm down, she must have been caught. We are identifying her as POW right now till we find her body."
"Prisoner? No, she couldn't be, and don't tell me to fucking calm down. She's my fucking fiancée"
"We're searching."
"If the group you just sent out doesn't find her, I'm going out with the next squad. You can not deny me that, sir."

"I'll approve your request."
