Chapter 5: The Doubles Round

Ruby: What?!

Blake: You can't be serious!

Both Ruby and Blake said in disbelief. The two Huntresses are seen in the fairgrounds along with Paige, Angelo, Weiss, Yang, and Team JNPR. If you were wondering why both the Little Rose and the Cat Faunus exclaimed, Angelo had told them the most shocking news.

Yang: Lanz is going to leave Beacon? But why?

Angelo: From what he told Azrael who told me and Paige about it, his brother told him to come back home so that he can be with his family again. That and he won't be in danger anymore.

Ruby: Is he really going to leave Beacon?

Paige: Fortunately, no. From what Lanz said, him and his brother made a deal. If Lanz wins the doubles and the singles round, his brother would let him go and let him stay here. After four years of course.

Jaune: And if he losses?

Angelo: Bird boy goes straight home to his home kingdom; Mistral.

Jaune: No....

Nora: That's so stupid!

Pyrrha: I agree. Lanz's brother may just want him to be safe and protect him after loosing Lanz when he was still a child, but that doesn't give him the right to just take him away just like that. He may be a professional fighter, and a good protector of the city of Vale, but he's still a student of Beacon and our friend.

Both Ren and Angelo nodded in agreement.

Ruby: So what are we going to do?

Angelo: Nothing. We should just hope that Lanz and Azrael wins in the doubles round. Cause if they don't, might as well give Lanz a traditional Beacon Academy farewell. That is if there is one.

Angelo said, attempting to cheer everyone up. But the group is still taking it back of the deal Lanz and Gerald made, making them look down, both worried and sad. Embarrassed for him attempt to cheer everyone up, he scratches the back of his head.

Meanwhile, as Ruby looks at the ground, thinking about will happen if the Vigilant Crow loses or not, she notices her teammate, Weiss, looking down with a sad look on her face as well. The Little Rose knew that the Ice Queen starts to have feelings for Lanz, so she isn't surprise to look that sad. Even if Lanz is just her friend. 

In an attempt to cheer Weiss up, she places her hand on her shoulder, causing Weiss to look at her.

Ruby: Hey. Don't worry. I'm sure Lanz can win this. 

Weiss: Are you certain?

Ruby: Well, he is Remnant's most wanted murderer. 

Weiss: And?

Ruby: I'm just saying that Lanz is a good fighter. And Azrael too. So maybe we shouldn't be so nervous about these things. Don't you think so?

Ruby said as she looks at the others for their opinions. The group all looked at each other and smiles as they look back at Ruby and nodded, agreeing with what she said.

Ruby: See? So let's just hope Lanz and Azrael win the doubles round. And we should all cheer them on.

The group say their agreements to Ruby as they nod. Weiss smiles at her leader and nods at her in respect. Ruby nods at her back before moving her hand away from the Ice Queen's shoulder.

Weiss: I hope you're right, Ruby.

Ruby: I'm always right.

The Little Rose said with a smirk as she points her thumb to herself, causing Weiss to smirk at her leader in amusement.
