Chapter 1: THE VYTAL TOURNAMENT

At a cliff where the golden sun in an orange sky over the tall grass and autumn trees can be seen rising slowly. At the edge of the cliff is a Gravestone. On the gravestone labelled "Summer Rose - Thus Kindly I Scatter". And in front of Summer Rose's grave, is Ruby Rose, her daughter, with her hood up and standing in front of her mother.

She pulls down her hood revealing her silver eyes and black hair with red strips.

Ruby: Hey mom... Sorry I haven't come by in a while. Things have been... well, things have been, pretty busy. Oh, Dad's here, too! He's, uh, you know... Dad.

Ruby said, shrugging her shoulders.

Ruby: He's still teaching at Signal. But he told me that he's going to be on some mission soon. I think he misses adventuring with you.

The Little Rose stated as she looks forlornly.

Ruby: I miss you too... Haven't gotten kicked out of Beacon yet! So that's cool. I think being on a team with Yang helps. Keep her in line... That was a joke. She's actually a really great fighter! You can tell she's learned a lot from Dad! Oh, so are Weiss and Blake. Oh! They're my teammates! Together, we form RWBY! And yes, before you ask, that does cause a lot of confusion. Anyways, I made a bunch of new friends, and then I met some... let's just say, uh, odd teachers. Oh! We've also stopped some bad guys, too! I guess it's like they say: "like mother, like daughter"! I still wonder why Ozpin  let me into the school early. But uh, I guess he'll tell me one day. You know how he is. It's funny, the more I get to know him, the more he's starting to sound like Uncle Qrow...

A bark alerts her to turn around. She turns around to see the ever-adorable Zwei and the sight of her father, Taiyang Xiao Long in the trees behind her. 

Ruby: Oh! Looks like Dad's back! I gotta go! He's dropping me off at Beacon for the tournament match before he goes on his next mission. Wish me luck!

Ruby was about to run off, but she stops to look back at her mother's grave as she tells her something one last time.

Ruby: Oh and another thing. The friends that I mentioned earlier, four of them are rogue cult members who are trying to put to a stop to the cult they used to work to. And I'm kind of working with them to stop their sadistic cult. So... yeah... I wish you could meet one of them mom. You could have helped them with the problem they're having... anyways. that's all.

She puts the hood back on and starts to walk away, but turns and delivers one final message to her mother:

Ruby: It was a good talk. 

With that said, Ruby jogs back to her family as a group of crows fly into the sun to make a very familiar sight.

From the sky and over the grassy mountains, where a stadium of epic proportions is seen. Crowds are cheering in the stands, visitors from all over the world. In the field of a tropical forest and ruined buildings below, A teenage boy with brown hair, wielding nothing but a shield, runs through the ruined buildings while looking back at someone chasing after him. And that someone is Azrael Vampirus who jumps and leaps off of broken columns as he chases after the brown haired boy. As he leapt, he takes out his dual wielding pistols and shoots a barrage of bullets down at the boy.

The brown haired boy turns around and puts his in front of him and blocks the bullets. He then looks back at the falling Dark Knight and throws his shield at Azrael who leans all the way back, dodging the incoming projectile and continues to fall towards him.
