With Her Gone

Rhydian's Pov

It's been two months since I saw her disappear into the wild, disappear from my life. Tom and Shannon been getting along okay, but nothing was the same anymore I had been kind of depressed not even a full moon could make tinniest smile appear. At times we would all laugh at something, but then it would die down and everything went back to complete silence. Ever since Maddy left we've felt like something was missing and an empty space stayed between us. My mind drifted off to where she had walked away and said her final goodbye in a howl, I put my head down knowing that I could of gone with her, I could of been happy, but it would only make things worse. Heartache and pain in my chest was all I felt, looking at the pencil drawn picture of her face just helped throughout the day. I was going to keep my promise and one day find her.
It was a full moon and I was sitting in the dark room listening to Shannon go on about how she and Tom saw Dr. Whitewood at Maddy's place last night, whilst I sat on the couch slouching and pouting. "Shouldn't you be bouncing off the walls, full moon eh" Tom said, "I'm fine" was all I could say, "you told Mrs. Vaughn you're staying at Tom's tonight, right" asked Shannon. "Mum's on night shift, she'll never know you weren't there" added Tom as I got up to leave "you need to be careful, if Whitewood's on the prowl" said Shannon, "you have to go way out on the moors, we heard you last night, she must have too" Tom added "just get as far away from Stonybridge as you can" Shannon concluded, as I made my way out the door. The K's were going on about the Kafe's grand opening handing out fliers to everyone in their path, Mr. Jeffries was talking about starting our work experience, but I didn't care. Jimi was bragging about how he'll be a millionaire before he's twenty- five, and Shannon agreed, then I smelt something so I went to investigate. It was a woman talking to Kara black hair with bangs up to her eyes, tan skin, once she looked my way she sent Kara to talk to someone else about who knows what. "Hello Rhydian" she said as I walked towards her, my hands clenched into fists "Maddy says to say hi" she got my attention.

"You know Maddy"

"Yeah her father called saying they were going into the wild, we offered them something better"

"You, your the fixer"

"No, I'm the messenger, Dacia Turner graduate recruit, Segolia corporation, but yeah that's one of the things Segolia does. We set up a new life for them in Canada, once they're settled she'll be in contact, this was an opportunity to let you know what's going on"

When I heard that my heart sank to the bottom of my chest, Maddy is in another continent now my promise is even harder to keep. Dacia went on telling me about Segolia

"A few employees know the secret, most don't. But some of our staff and several senior executives are Wolfbloods"

"In a big business"

"Why not, with our gifts we have a lot to offer"

"It's not all paper work, we protect and serve the company's interests then, our own"

"If you like, our interests are global, there's a lot of travel, perks are great. At a full moon they fly us out to Norway in a private jet"

"Ahem, it's just a bit smaller scale up here"

"I'm looking forward to it, I've given up Norway to meet you the least you can do is show me a full moon Stoneybridge- style"

"Not much style to it, just me"

"No family"

I shook my head

"That's the best part about this job about a pack you belong too"

Then Kara irrupted "I'll uh, I'll think about it" and with that I went over to Tom and Shannon, then pulled them outside and told them everything. Shannon got excited and went to see if she can get recruited, they started acting like children when they went up to Dacia. Shannon said that she was going to wet herself and Tom was trying to be all fancy, but they got over it. At lunch Dr. Whitewood turned up and I couldn't help but get angry, but Tom lead me away whilst Shannon tried to deal with it. Later that night Whitewood showed up at my foster mum's, it was all a trick knowing I'll come there. She gave me a shot making me faint and when I awoke I was locked in a cage, in the back of her car. I called Shannon and Tom and they came to help but it was too late, thankfully Dacia showed up to the rescue. She gave Whitewood a job at Segolia which had the answers to all her questions meaning Maddy could come home, I jumped in joy at the moon. The next day we all waited for Dacia to show up with Maddy, but she showed up empty handed saying they already got on the cargo ship and left, I went after her even if it meant going to Canada but an unexpected guest showed up, it was Jana and she looked badly injured. I helped her knowing that I couldn't leave and that Maddy was gone forever until I could find my way back to her.
