My eyes fluttered open as sunlight found its way into our bedroom. I glanced at my sides to see Paris and Adonis still beside me. But the ceiling fan was on and I couldn't remember if I had turned it on before I laid down yesterday. Honestly, I hadn't expected to sleep all night.

It started off as a nap, it was only a nap.

Pushing myself to sit up in bed, I glanced around the room. I had my babies, but something was missing. Someone. I frowned. Brian was in the room with us. I knew we'd taken over the bed and there wasn't much room for him, but the last time this happened he'd grabbed pillows and fallen asleep on the floor. Not the comfiest of places, but he never left our sides.

My brows pinched together as I reached for my phone. Maybe he messaged me? Maybe he came home later than he said? I needed to know. When I glanced at the time, I gasped before I saw the unread message.

It was six in the morning? Jesus!

The bathroom door shut and water from the sink ran. I glanced up at the partially closed door and listened. Brian was home. Maybe he woke up before we did. Clearly had to be it. I was up before Paris and Adonis.

And I forgot about the cake.

"Oh no," I whispered as I quietly scooted up and off the bed without waking the twins. I needed them to stay asleep for as long as possible. If we were up this early, at the same time, maybe I could make him breakfast like I used to. It'd been so long since I'd done that.

Biting my lip, I slipped on my house slippers and crept to the door. I quickly glanced back at our babies just to be sure they were asleep. They were. Adonis placed his hand on his nose. I couldn't help but smile.

From the bathroom, the faucet stopped running, and I had to quicken my steps. But once I got into the kitchen, I stopped. The cake was put away and there was coffee brewing in the machine.

Man, did he beat me to it? He did. I sighed.

"Brian?" I walked over to the bathroom door and quietly knocked. "You're up early. Did you sleep on the floor? I'm sorry, we crashed early and-"

The door opened and Brian held my toothbrush out for me, already prepped with toothpaste. I blinked at the gesture and smiled, giggling quietly. "Are you saying I stink?"

"Kay, everyone stinks in the morning," he said, going back to the faucet to turn on the water. "It means you're alive."

"Oh, oh," I chuckled, but stepped inside and pushed the toothbrush in my mouth. I brushed a few times before spitting. "Using my words against me?"

"I think I need to listen to you more," he said, turning his back against the sink. He smelled fresh, had he showered this early? His skin glistened in the bathroom light. The lines of his muscles were intensified this morning. Or maybe it was me because I was able to get a good look at him.
