Zebian was in his own world during the whole journey back to Sebria. With his eyes glancing at the sky-blue clouds, he was lost in his bubble where only his rose lodged. His heart was fluttering with explosive love for her from the moment Lucian's words got to his heart. She made him cookies. He least expected it but she proved him wrong. His little one did have a spot for him but she was stubborn enough to admit it. It's okay...it's alright by him. If she wanted to play cold, she could. He would give her time to settle back into their new journey but the second her mask of indifference would slip off, he would screw with this waiting and show her how much she belonged to him.
Zebian closed his eyes and tipped his head back before sighing deeply. He thought he would never stop punishing her for the pain she had given him but now, it was becoming the hardest thing to do. His heart was melting for her. Asking him to blend in her madness again. Love her like there was no tomorrow and forgive her for those eight years as if they never took place. And damn him for letting himself listen to his heart. Seeing tears in those doe-like eyes let alone give her pain, it was becoming beyond him. For he was losing himself to her, completely, undeniably, unstoppably.
Lucian blinked before darting his eyes at the king who was sitting opposite him, he closely studied that soft glam lingering on his face since last night. The king hadn't stepped off from the seventh sky after that episode. He was on the highest cloud one could name. Lucian had never seen him smiling too often unusually. Though, he had seen him thrashing on the floor, screaming in her memory, hurting himself just because he couldn't stop the love of his life from walking away from him.
Now, even if Lucian had to fall on his knees before his mistress' to make her stay for the sake of the king's sanity, he would do it. He could not afford him to lose his balance of mind again. If the king was at peace, so would the kingdom.
Lucian grunted and glanced outside the window, noticing a signboard. It said Sebria was several miles away which meant it would take them an hour to reach. He squared his shoulder and cracked his neck, travelling continuously had tired him out.

"Ready or not, here I come," Renai called out as she turned around to chase a toddler. The little girl with two pigtails pushed her tiny legs to run after letting out a sharp scream, filling the garden with more liveliness. The girl scurried in circles and Renai clawed her hands like a predator and pretended to attack her. The girl looked back and put her hands on her eyes once Renai wounded an arm around her waist and pulled her up.
"Caught you!" Renai laughed and nudged her nose in the girl's tummy. The girl's mouth opened as a tickling sensation kicked in her body. She screamed out a laugh and put her hands on Renai's head to push her away. Renai poked her nose more into her stomach.
"Ahh...sh...stop...ouu," The girl breathed out between her giggles. Renai grinned and pulled back her head.
"Will you push me again?" Renai raised her eyebrows playfully and asked. The girl made a cute, tiny pout and shook her head.
"Will you go on a ride with me?" She asked again. The girl nodded her head, tongue out on her lips.
"And will you let mama be my friend?" Renai asked and that's when that cute pout morphed into an angry frown. She shook her head vehemently.
"No, she is only my friend," The girl stormed with fury. The anger sitting between her brows made Renai chuckle wholeheartedly. This little thing was a stress-killer. They had been playing together for two days and she had been the cutest thing Renai had ever seen.
"Come on, let me share her with you," Renai stuck out her lower lip and blinked at her with puppy eyes. The girl folded her arms across her chest. Renai couldn't mask her smile.
